Last week I tried the Revision Skincare DEJ BioStim Topical Treatemt. This topical biostimulator helps stimulate collagen, strengthen the skin barrier, and improve overall skin quality at a deeper level. It contains BHA, AHA, as well as dicarboxylic, phenolic, and triterpene acids. It requires a series of three treatments to see full results.

I’ll be honest;my skin isn’t sensitive, but I don’t usually do many intensive treatments, so I don’t think my reaction is typical. I definitely had to go into full skin barrier repair mode, which I know how to handle well. When your barrier is disrupted, it’s best to stay away from all actives and keep your routine as simple as possible.

@Experiment Beauty Glycerin Serum is my go-to for hydration;it holds moisture better than HA for me. And of course, @LaRochePosayUS Cica Balm is always a favorite when my skin needs extra love. I’m not usually into slugging, but I wanted to lock in hydration, so I used @AquaphorUS and stayed out of the sun. I also love the @Tatcha Silk Sunscreen; it’s one of the best zinc oxide sunscreens I’ve tried.

A week later, everything flaked off, leaving my skin smooth and glowing! Since this treatment requires three sessions, I think I’ll do it again; but I’ll definitely plan ahead, knowing I may peel for 3–5 days.

... Read moreSo, you're considering a DEJ BioStim treatment? Let me share a bit more about what this journey entails, especially if you're like me and want to be prepared! The Revision Skincare DEJ BioStim Topical Treatment is a fascinating product designed to boost your skin's own collagen production and bolster your skin's barrier at a deeper level. It's packed with potent ingredients like BHAs, AHAs, and other acids that work to resurface and rejuvenate. This isn't just a surface-level peel; it's about stimulating your skin from within for long-term health and vitality. Before diving in, I wish I'd known a bit more about the potential immediate aftermath. My skin, while not overly sensitive, definitely needed some extra love. For anyone considering it, here's a rough timeline of what your 'before and after' might look like based on my experience: Day 1-2 (Post-Treatment): Immediately after, my skin felt a bit tight and looked a little red, almost like a mild sunburn. This is when the deeper work begins. My advice? Start your gentle, minimalist routine right away. Avoid any active ingredients – seriously, put your retinols and vitamin C serums on hold! Focus purely on healing and hydration. Day 3-5 (Peeling Phase): This was the most noticeable part for me. The flaking started, and it wasn't just a little. It was a full-on peel, especially around my nose and chin. This is your skin shedding those old layers to reveal fresh, new skin underneath. It’s crucial during this phase to resist picking or aggressively scrubbing. Let your skin do its thing naturally. This is where products like a good barrier cream and a nourishing 'HEALING OINTMENT' become your best friends. Day 6-7 (Emergence!): Towards the end of the week, everything started to smooth out. The flaking subsided, and underneath, my skin felt incredibly soft and looked genuinely glowing. This is the 'after' you’re waiting for! The improvement in overall 'SKIN' texture and tone was quite remarkable. To really nail the recovery, here are my top tips for 'SKIN BARRIER REPAIR': Simplify Your Routine: Ditch all actives. Your focus should be on gentle cleansing and intense hydration. Hydration is Key: I swear by glycerin serums, they hold moisture so well. Layering a good Cica Balm, like the La Roche-Posay one I mentioned, is also non-negotiable for soothing and repairing. Consider Slugging: While I'm not usually one to slug, using a thick occlusive like 'Aquaphor' over my moisturizer at night made a huge difference in locking in hydration and promoting healing. It really helped my 'BARRIER' recover. Sun Protection is Paramount: New skin is vulnerable skin. Even on cloudy days, a high-SPF 'SUNSCREEN' is a must. I loved the Tatcha Silk Sunscreen for its non-greasy feel. Protecting your skin from UV damage is essential to prevent hyperpigmentation and maintain your results. Listen to Your Skin: Everyone's reaction will be slightly different. If something feels too tingly or irritating, stop. Give your skin time to recover. Ultimately, despite the initial peeling, I found the DEJ BioStim treatment to be incredibly rewarding. The journey to 'SMOOTH', radiant skin is worth it, as long as you're armed with the right post-care knowledge. I’m already planning my next session, knowing exactly how to prepare and pamper my skin for the best 'before and after' journey!
