Having witnessed the journey of a dance major at the University of Memphis, I can say the experience is truly transformational. The university offers a robust curriculum that balances technique, creativity, and performance opportunities. My youngest graduated with her BFA in dance, which not only honed her skills but also deepened her passion for the art form. The university’s connection to the vibrant Memphis arts community, including venues like the FedExForum, offers students invaluable real-world experiences and networking opportunities. Graduating shortly after turning 22, my daughter benefited from dedicated faculty support and a curriculum designed to prepare students for diverse careers in dance, whether in performance, education, or choreography. If you’re considering a dance major, the University of Memphis provides a nurturing environment that fosters growth both on and off the stage. The combination of rigorous academic standards and competitive performance opportunities prepares graduates to succeed and contribute meaningfully to the dance world.
