Battery Ignition System
The Battery Ignition System, used in regular gasoline vehicles, will explain the sequence of operation from the key twist to the spark plug. 👇
🔋 1) Battery
Duty: Power supply 12V to the whole system.
Positive pole (+) → Go to the key switch / control box.
Negative Pole (-) → Continue Down Ground Car Body
🔑 2) Key Switch (Contactor)
When twisting the key to the ON position,
The fire from the battery will be directed to the ignition coil.
In the newer system, it is sent into the ECU (computer box) first.
🧲 3) Ignition Coil
Duty: Convert 12V → power into a high voltage of about 20,000-40,000 volts.
There are 2 sets of coils inside.
Primal coil (12V low beam)
Secondary coil (high voltage)
Principle: When the current in the primary coil is "immediately cut off," a magnetic field collapses →, inducing a high pressure out at the secondary coil.
⚡ 4) Current Connector (White Gold Face / Transistor / ECU)
The image shows two systems:
🔹 Old style (with white gold face)
Spin dispensing shaft
White gold face on-off coil circuit
When the circuit was cut → high fire.
🔹 New type (ECU control)
Get a signal from:
Crankshaft Sensor
Camshaft Sensor
ECU order montage coil with transistor
More accurate, more fuel efficient.
🔋 5) Capacitor (Capaciter)
Duty:
Reduce the sparking on the white gold face
Causing the magnetic field to collapse fast → higher voltage
🔄 6) Dispensing Dish (Distributor) - Old System
Duty:
Get high voltage from the coil.
Distributed to each cylinder spark plug in order of ignition.
🔥 7) Spark Plug
Duty:
Get high voltage.
Create a spark (Arc) at the end of the fangs.
Ignition, oil-air mixture in the cylinder
🔁 The whole sequence of operations.
Twist the key → 12V lights into Coil
The current editor closes the circuit → a magnetic field is formed.
Circuit opening editor → magnetic field collapse
The coil generates high voltage.
Send to the dispensing saucer / coil split cylinder.
Go to the spark plug.
There's a spark. Ignition.

⚠ common symptoms
Start Non-Stick → Spoiled Coil / No Fire In
Tripping Machine → Blind Spark Plug / Leaky Spark Plug Cord
