KEYCHAIN TUTORIAL! #fyp #monchhichi #diy #diyproject #trinkets
Hey fellow craft lovers and Monchhichi fans! I'm so thrilled to share something super special I just finished – my very own small Monchhichi keychain! As someone who grew up loving these adorable figures, being able to carry a little piece of that nostalgia with me every day is just the best. And guess what? You can totally make one too! I've put together a simple, step-by-step tutorial that's perfect for beginners, so let's get crafting! Why make your own Monchhichi keychain? It’s incredibly rewarding to create something with your own hands, plus you get to personalize it! Whether you want a classic brown Monchhichi or one with a tiny outfit, the possibilities are endless. It's a fantastic way to make unique, heartfelt gifts and often more budget-friendly than buying an official one, giving you that extra handmade charm. To kick off your Monchhichi keychain adventure, here’s what you’ll need: Felt fabric: Small pieces in Monchhichi colors (brown, beige for face, pink for cheeks, etc.). Embroidery floss: Black for eyes/mouth, pink for cheeks, matching colors for felt. Polyester fiberfill: Just a small handful for stuffing. Key ring and chain: The hardware to make it a keychain! Needle, fabric scissors, pins. Fabric glue (optional): For tiny details. Monchhichi pattern: Search "Monchhichi felt pattern" online and print a small version. Ready? Let’s make our cute Monchhichi! Step 1: Cut Your Pattern Pieces Print your small Monchhichi pattern and carefully cut out all the paper pieces (body, head, ears, tail if included). Pin these onto your felt fabric and cut around them. You'll typically need two pieces for the body, two for the head, and four for the ears (two for each). Don't forget a small beige piece for the face area! Step 2: Create the Face Take one head felt piece and position the beige face piece onto it. Secure with a few small stitches or glue. Using black embroidery floss, carefully stitch on the eyes and a small 'O' shape for the mouth. If you like, add some cute pink blush on the cheeks with a few French knots. This is where your Monchhichi starts to come alive! Step 3: Assemble Head and Ears Place two ear pieces together and stitch around the curved edge, leaving the bottom open. Repeat for the other ear. Now, take your two head pieces (one with the face, one plain) and sandwich the finished ears in between them at the top corners. Stitch around the head, leaving a small opening at the bottom for stuffing. Step 4: Stuff and Close Gently push small bits of fiberfill into the head until it’s plump and firm. Stitch up the opening. Then, take your two body pieces. If your pattern includes a tail, stitch it between the body pieces at the back. Stitch the two body pieces together, leaving an opening at the neck area. Stuff the body firmly, then stitch up any remaining openings. Step 5: Join Head, Body & Attach Keychain Securely sew the head onto the body with strong stitches. Finally, attach the key ring and chain to the top of the head using pliers. Make sure it's firmly attached, as keychains get a lot of use! My Personal Tips for a Perfect Monchhichi: Size Matters: Keep your Monchhichi around 3-4 inches tall for an ideal keychain size. Simple Stitches: A running stitch or blanket stitch works beautifully for felt. Don't feel pressured to use complex techniques. Personalize: Add tiny bows, a little felt t-shirt, or a mini pacifier to make your Monchhichi truly unique. Secure Everything: Double-knot your threads and ensure all stitches, especially for the key ring attachment, are very secure. Keychains endure a lot of wear and tear! There you have it! Your very own handmade Monchhichi keychain. I absolutely adore mine and already have plans to make more for my friends. It’s such a fun and fulfilling little project that brings back so many happy memories. Give it a try, and don’t forget to share your adorable creations! Happy crafting!
