ICED Ginger Tea/ My Coffee Substitute
Tea Brand: Gold Kili(Can be found on Amazon or HEB)
I’m a big time COLD coffee drinker! I absolutely love it! I love it even more when I make it at home than going to a coffee shop because I get to control how much sugar goes in. I don’t like anything that’s too sweet and going out to get coffee can be ridiculously sweet. However, no matter how much I love it sometimes it doesn’t love me back. Every now and then the caffeine causes me to have the jitters and I’m not a big fan of decaf to substitute. Not to mention some brands/flavors that I enjoy don’t even have the option. The last inconvenience is the random cases of indigestion. It’s absolutely miserable. So when I drink coffee it’s sparingly and I just really have to have a taste for it. I can’t drink daily cups like I want to/used to so I created myself a SUBSTITUTE!😌 Ginger TEA! I’ve been buying and drinking this brand of tea for over 8 years now and I LOVE IT! Not only does it have a great taste it’s great for multiple things such as menstrual cramps, indigestion, headaches, sore throat and overall relaxation! I enjoy this tea hot or cold. If I drink it hot I’ll add powdered creamer, cloves and star anise! The taste is so soothing! It’ll put you right to sleep! Especially in these colder months it’s perfect! You can drink it at anytime of day! Whenever I’m in a coffee mood this is my got to drink! It’s way less sugar, I get the benefits of the ginger tea and no side effects! You’re more than welcome to try other brands of ginger tea, however this is my favorite! I don’t like the other brands of ginger tea I’ve tried and won’t be switching up.🥰 if you’re in Texas you can find this at HEB! Other than that there’s AMAZON or your local Asian market! Let me know if you tried it in the comments! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!🫶🏾
Okay, so you've heard about my love for iced ginger tea as a coffee substitute, but let me tell you, it's more than just a simple swap – it's a complete game-changer, especially if you're looking for that satisfying 'latte' experience without the jitters! I know many of you are searching for that perfect iced ginger latte or ginger tea latte that rivals your favorite coffee shop, and I've got some extra tips to get you there with my beloved Gold Kili. First off, let's talk about making it truly feel like a ginger coffee drink or ginger iced coffee in terms of richness. My secret for that creamy, velvety texture? While the original recipe mentions powdered creamer for hot tea, for an iced version, adding a splash of your favorite liquid creamer makes all the difference. I personally swear by vanilla creamer – it blends beautifully with the ginger, enhancing that warm, comforting flavor and hitting that vanilla ginger tea craving perfectly. Whether it's dairy or a non-dairy option like oat milk or almond milk, a good creamer transforms it from a simple tea into a luxurious blend. For an extra frothy touch, if you have a milk frother (even a handheld one!), you can froth your cold creamer before adding it, or simply shake your mason jar vigorously after adding all ingredients. This creates that delightful, airy top layer, making it truly feel like a blended ginger drink. For those who love the idea of a homemade ginger tea close up and want to elevate their drink, don't shy away from extra spices! The Gold Kili packets provide a fantastic base, but a tiny pinch of ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, or ground cloves (as you can see in some of my prep pictures!) can deepen the flavor profile and make it even more aromatic. These spices not only taste amazing but also add to the overall warmth and coziness, perfect for any time of year. Sometimes, I even add a thin slice of fresh ginger to my mason jar for an extra visual and aromatic kick, giving it that fresh ginger tea close up feel, even though I'm using packets. If you're aiming for that Starbucks ginger tea vibe at home, presentation matters! Serving it in a chilled mason jar with plenty of crushed ice (as shown in my images) and a reusable straw instantly makes it feel more special. A little garnish, like a cinnamon stick, a star anise pod (which I enjoy in my hot version), or a lemon slice, can truly elevate the experience and make your homemade ginger tea drink close up Instagram-worthy. Beyond the delicious taste and the absence of jitters, I've found this Gold Kili ginger tea latte to be incredibly soothing. It's gentle on my stomach, which is a huge relief from coffee-induced indigestion. Plus, the natural benefits of ginger for things like headaches and relaxation are just icing on the cake. It's truly become my ultimate iced coffee alternative. So, whether you're battling coffee side effects, craving something warm and spicy, or just looking to experiment with a new comforting drink, I highly encourage you to try making your own iced ginger tea latte. You can find Gold Kili on Amazon, at HEB if you're in Texas, or your local Asian market. Trust me, once you master your perfect blend, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it!
