For anyone dreaming of their own magical holiday getaway to Disney, I wanted to share a few more thoughts and tips from our recent adventure to help you create your own unforgettable memories.
First off, planning is absolutely key, especially during the festive season. A Disney Christmas is super popular, and for good reason! We found booking our accommodations, park reservations, and even some dining experiences well in advance made a huge difference. If you're hoping to experience Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP), grab those tickets early – they sell out fast! It’s truly a special event with unique parades like Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, the stunning Holiday Wishes fireworks, and exclusive character greetings you won't see otherwise. Trust me, sipping hot cocoa while watching snow fall on Main Street, U.S.A. during MVMCP is pure magic and something everyone should experience at least once.
One of the things I absolutely adore about A Disney Christmas is how the parks completely transform. The decorations are just breathtaking, from the giant Christmas tree at Magic Kingdom to the festive lights and garlands everywhere you look. Don't forget to check out the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays for amazing food booths, cultural celebrations, and the Candlelight Processional. We loved trying different holiday treats from around the world – it adds another layer of delicious fun to the experience! Hollywood Studios also gets in on the action with Sunset Seasons Greetings, projecting holiday scenes onto the Tower of Terror.
We made sure to try some new dining experiences this trip, and I highly recommend branching out from your usual favorites. Sometimes the best discoveries are made when you step a little outside your comfort zone. And of course, riding all the classic rides with a festive twist, like Jingle Cruise (the Jungle Cruise with a holiday overlay), just adds to the unique charm and helps create those special Magical Moments.
To truly soak in the festive atmosphere and avoid burnout, I recommend building in some rest days or at least slower mornings. Disney can be a lot, and you don't want to miss out on appreciating the details. We enjoyed leisurely breakfasts and some pool time before heading to the parks on certain days. Also, remember that even in Florida, December evenings can get a bit chilly, so packing layers is a smart move! A light jacket or sweater for evenings, especially for outdoor shows or MVMCP, will make your experience much more comfortable.
Finally, dealing with the post-Disney blues! It's tough, but we love looking back at photos and videos from A Disney Christmas, and even starting a small scrapbook to keep those magical memories alive. And of course, already dreaming and casually planning the next trip helps immensely! A Disney Christmas truly is an experience like no other, and I hope these extra tips inspire your own festive adventures and help you make unforgettable memories with your loved ones.
