I checked in at Vischio by Granvia Kyoto -

a lovely hotel right next to JR Kyoto Station, clean, convenient, and cozy.

I'll share a full review later...

Then I headedstraight to Uji - the legendary town of Japanesegreen tea 🍵

🍜 Lunch: Nakamura Udon Hanare

I tried their signature Matcha Udon- chewynoodles with a gentlearoma of real Ujitea.

The flavor was deep yet smooth, paired perfectly with a clear bonito broth.

One bite and Ithought, "Ujimatcha really doesn't messaround!"

🍦 Dessert: Fukucha

To end lunch, Istopped by Fukucha for a cup of matcha ice cream.

Rich, fragrant, and creamy- but surprisingly strong.

That night, I was sleepybut wide awake, completely powered by Uji caffeine 😂

🍵 Historic Tea Shop: Terashimaya

A charming tea shop foundedin 1827, located near the west end of the Uji Bridge.

They're famous for Hōjicha, roasted green tea with atoasty, mellowaroma.

I boughtsometo bring home- the fragrance was simplyirresistible.

🏯 Byodoin Temple - thetemple on Japan's ¥10 coin

One of Uji's most famous landmarksand a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Unfortunately, the Phoenix Hall was closed that day due to thetyphoon ☔

So Ijust wandered around the beautifulgardens,

enjoying the calm before heading back toKyoto.
