Ain’t no grumpy no more
Went to try the notorious Grumpy Man Chicken Rice, but sadly… no grumpy man was spotted 😂. Still, this is definitely one of my go-to comfort foods whenever I’m around Orchard.
For the price point (around $10), I find it very worth it — you get fragrant rice, crispy fried chicken, two side dishes, and a drink. Super value for money, in my opinion.
The rice is really fragrant, and the fried chicken is freshly fried, so it’s hot, juicy, and crispy. The side dishes complement the main really well. Their sambal leans more towards the sweeter side, but if you prefer more heat, there’s also a spicier sambal to give your meal an extra kick.
Overall, it’s still one of my comfort food spots that I’d happily go back to. I’d personally rate it 4/5 ⭐️ — minus one point because the space is quite small, so during lunch hours, you’ll likely have to wait a bit.@Fiie's Cafe
