When I first faced difficult emotions, I tried to suppress them, fearing they made me weak. However, this only prolonged my suffering. By journaling honestly about what hurt, as inspired by scriptures like Lamentations 2:19, I was able to pour out my heart and acknowledge the sadness I felt without rushing to "fix" it. This process allowed me to embrace my vulnerability, realizing that feeling brokenhearted does not mean failure but rather a natural part of healing. Psalm 34:18 reminds us that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted, offering comfort and presence, which gave me strength during tough times. Through prayer, specifically inviting feelings into the presence of the Lord, I found a safe space to rest and process pain at my own pace, echoing the invitation in Matthew 11:28. I recommend anyone struggling with pain to consider these steps: write down your feelings without fear, acknowledge your pain honestly, and use prayer or meditation to invite peace and healing. Sharing your journey with someone who listens with compassion can also be incredibly encouraging. Remember, healing is not about erasing pain quickly, but about honoring it and gently moving forward step by step.
