... Read moreOMG, fellow trainers! The news is out and I'm beyond hyped! We're getting a brand new 5-star Tera Raid Battle featuring the iconic Alolan Exeggutor in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Mark your calendars because this event runs from January 17th to January 19th, 2025. This isn't just any Exeggutor; it's the towering Alolan form, rocking a Dragon Tera Crown! I've been eagerly awaiting more challenging raids, and a 5-star Alolan Exeggutor with a Dragon Tera type sounds like a fantastic test of skill. Its original Dragon/Grass typing gives it unique resistances and weaknesses, but with the Dragon Tera, its offensive capabilities get a massive boost, and its defensive profile shifts significantly. This means we'll really need to strategize to take it down! From my early scouting, the key to success against a Dragon Tera Alolan Exeggutor will likely be focusing on its new weaknesses. Fairy-type moves are going to be super effective, and Ice-type moves remain a strong contender due to its primary Dragon typing. I'm thinking of bringing some of my heavy hitters. For Fairy, Tinkaton could be an amazing choice with its high Attack and access to Play Rough, plus its Steel typing resists Dragon attacks. Azumarill with Huge Power and Play Rough is always a reliable option too. For Ice-types, Baxcalibur with its powerful Ice Shard and Icicle Crash could deal massive damage. Iron Bundle, if you're playing Violet, is incredibly fast and hits hard with Ice Beam. Even a well-trained Chien-Pao (if you're brave enough to use a legendary in raids!) could sweep with its abilities. I'm also considering a support Pokémon that can set up screens or debuff the Alolan Exeggutor, like an Arcanine with Intimidate or a Grimmsnarl with Light Screen and Reflect. Beyond just picking the right Pokémon, our in-raid strategy will be crucial. Remember to use those cheer moves! Attack Cheer, Defense Cheer, and especially Heal Cheer can turn the tide of a battle. Don't forget to Terastallize your Pokémon at the right moment to maximize your damage output or shore up your defenses. I usually try to Terastallize after landing a few debuffs on the raid boss or after boosting my own stats. Items like Shell Bell for consistent healing or Expert Belt for a damage boost on super-effective moves will also be very helpful. While the article mentioned uncertainty about Herba Mystica drops, I'm crossing my fingers! These 5-star raids are often a great source for those rare ingredients, alongside Tera Shards, Exp. Candies, and other valuable items. Even if Herba Mystica isn't guaranteed, the thrill of catching a powerful Alolan Exeggutor and the challenge of the battle itself are rewards enough for me. So, get your teams ready, trainers! Let's conquer these 5-star Alolan Exeggutor Tera Raids in Paldea. I can't wait to hear about your successful strategies and what awesome Pokémon you'll be using. Good luck, and happy raiding!
