new braces color!!!
New month brings new bands on my teeth & new wires. Idk how I feel about this picture but I’m gonna do like Instagram circa 2013 and post what I want 🤷🏾♀️ ; my man saw it first
Hey Lemon8 fam! So, I just posted about my latest braces color, and it got me thinking about how much thought goes into picking those tiny bands every month. It’s not just a medical thing anymore; it's a real fashion statement and a way to express yourself! Especially for us black girls, finding braces colors that truly pop against our beautiful skin tones can be a fun challenge. When I was first getting my braces, I spent so much time scrolling through Pinterest looking for inspiration. I saw a lot of pretty pastels, but what really caught my eye were the vibrant shades. Pink braces, for example, are always a classic! There’s something about a bright or even a soft rose pink that just brings out a glow. And magenta braces? Oh my goodness, they are such a showstopper! That rich, deep pink with a hint of purple is incredibly flattering and makes your smile feel extra special. I’ve tried a few different blues, like the ones in my latest pic, and they’re cool, but there’s a unique vibrancy that pinks and magentas offer. It’s all about experimenting and finding what makes you feel confident. Don't be afraid to try bolder colors! Sometimes people worry about certain colors making their teeth look yellow, but with a good oral hygiene routine, you can rock almost anything. My top tip for keeping those colored bands looking fresh, whether they're pink, magenta, or any other shade, is consistent brushing and avoiding highly staining foods and drinks if you want the color to last. And remember to always carry a travel toothbrush for after meals! Beyond just the color, wearing braces is a journey of patience and self-discovery. The image in my post has this amazing quote: “Embrace Vulnerability” and “Being authentic unblocks your growth.” That really resonated with me. There are days when I might feel a bit self-conscious, but then I remember this journey is about becoming my best self, inside and out. It’s about being authentic and not hiding, even if it’s just showing off a new braces color. What are your go-to braces colors? Have you ever tried pink or magenta? Share your experiences and tips in the comments below! Let’s inspire each other to embrace our unique smiles and feel gorgeous every step of the way.
