I'm so excited to share my obsession with Souper Cubes because they've truly transformed how I approach meal prep, especially when I make a big pot of soup or a hearty stew. Before these, I used to struggle with storing leftovers efficiently. Plastic containers would take up too much space, and sometimes the portions weren't quite right. But these silicone moulds? They're a revelation! One of the biggest advantages is definitely the built-in measurements. Whether I want a one-cup serving or a two-cup serving, it's clearly marked on the inside, making portion control effortless. This is super helpful when I'm tracking my intake or just want consistent meal sizes. For example, if I've made a large batch of homemade chicken broth, I can freeze it in one-cup portions, and it's perfect for quickly adding to recipes later without having to thaw a huge block. When I'm filling them, I always remember to leave a little room to expand once it freezes. This prevents any mess or cracking of the ice block. After cooking, it's crucial to let whatever you're freezing cool completely before transferring it to the Souper Cubes. This helps maintain food quality and prevents ice crystals. I usually let my meal sit for a while, sometimes even putting it in the fridge overnight, before moving it to the freezer. Once they're cool and solid, I put on the lid and pop them into the freezer overnight. By morning, they're completely frozen and ready to be stored. What I love most is how easy it is to pop it in the microwave when I'm ready to eat. You just push from the bottom, and out comes a perfect, individual block of food. I then transfer these frozen blocks into freezer bags or larger containers to save space, and they're ready to rely on throughout the week for my meal prepping. It's fantastic for busy weekdays when I don't have time to cook from scratch. Just grab a frozen portion, reheat, and I've got lunch or dinner sorted. It's not just for soup either; I've used them for pasta sauces, pureed baby food, smoothie packs, and even individual servings of casseroles. They're incredibly versatile and a true kitchen essential for anyone serious about making meal prep easier and more sustainable!
