เกาะเกร็ดเป็นสถานที่เหมาะสำหรับคนที่อยากหลีกหนีความวุ่นวายในกรุงเทพฯ แต่ยังอยากเที่ยวสบายๆ แบบไปเช้าเย็นกลับ สำหรับใครที่ไม่มีรถส่วนตัว ก็สามารถนั่งรถประจำทางหรือแท็กซี่ไปลงที่วัดสนามเหนือได้เช่นกัน และเช่าเรือข้ามฝากที่จุดนั้นเหมือนกัน สะดวกและราคาประหยัด ที่เกาะนี้มีกิจกรรมให้เลือกมากมาย โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการปั้นดินเผาที่ร้านลุงติดินเปรอะ ที่สอนปั้นตัวต่อตัว ถือเป็นประสบการณ์ที่ไม่เหมือนใคร อีกทั้งยังสนุกกับการเรียนรู้การทำงานศิลปะพื้นบ้าน นอกจากนี้ที่เกาะยังมีร้านอาหารที่โดดเด่นด้วยเมนูท้องถิ่น อาทิ แตงโมปลาแห้ง ข้าวแช่ และขนมจีนน้ำยาแกงเขียวหวาน ซึ่งจะได้สัมผัสรสชาติที่ต่างจากเมืองกรุง สำหรับการเดินชมรอบเกาะ ทางเดินอาจจะร้อนบ้างในช่วงกลางวัน จึงแนะนำให้เตรียมหมวกและน้ำดื่มพกไปด้วย หรือจะสลับกับปั่นจักรยานก็ได้ แต่ควรระวังและไม่ปั่นเร็วเกินไปเพราะทางแคบและบางส่วนอาจไม่ค่อยเรียบ ใครที่รักการถ่ายรูป มุมสวยๆ บนเกาะ เช่น โบสถ์วัดเจดีย์เอียงและดอกไฮเดรนเยียสีสันต่างๆ ก็ช่วยเติมพลังความสุขของวันหยุดได้ดี และยังมีร้านน้ำผลไม้และของทานเล่นให้นั่งพักผ่อนเพลินๆ ครบเครื่องในวันเดียว โดยรวมแล้วเกาะเกร็ดเหมาะกับทุกคนที่อยากหาสถานที่เที่ยวใกล้กรุงเทพฯ งบประหยัด แต่เต็มไปด้วยประสบการณ์ใหม่ๆ ทั้งอาหาร ศิลปะ และธรรมชาติ ที่สำคัญเดินทางสะดวกและไม่ต้องวางแผนซับซ้อนเลย
