-Weak and rushed warm up so my calves were on fire and crampy 😢
-Ate horrible the past few days and was dehydrated 💦
-Mind preoccupied due to Nikko being hospitalized 👦🏾
-Lack of sleep and lack of comfortable sleep 😴
-Overall no complaints. 👍🏾
Running progress often comes with ups and downs, as reflected in this personal update about hitting a 2-mile personal record despite facing multiple hurdles such as dehydration, muscle cramps, mental stress, and lack of rest. Achieving milestones like a PR during less-than-ideal circumstances shows not only physical resilience but also mental strength and dedication. For anyone training toward a 5K, it’s normal to encounter days when nutrition and sleep are off, or personal distractions are heavy; what matters most is the commitment to keep moving forward. Incorporating new shoes can positively impact running form and comfort, making a notable difference in performance and injury prevention. However, it’s important to pair them with proper warm-ups to avoid muscle cramps, especially in calves. Hydration and nutrition are vital to sustain energy levels and recovery.
