Therapy Session Two

Therapy Session Two

Rating: 3⭐️

This was okay something was different about this that affected my enjoyment. I didn't really care about Tim in this one like I did in the first one but I believe he should've had a consistent POV like Breeze. I didn't like Tim picking someone from their past and one that had feelings for him. That seems like the start of something messy that could affect their "loving relationship". Especially if Mercedes feelings are still there. The scene with the work event that Breeze mentions Mercedes sending an invitation to had Tim immediately declining. Why?

Was that odd? The respectful thing to do? Or avoidance of something?

Now what Breeze did was not surprising and I wonder if the no face/names rule was the bad idea here; given they're married and they want to stay married to each other. I can't help but feel like they are creating something uncomfortable and only a temporary satisfaction.

I think I enjoyed the first one more.

... Read moreReading 'Therapy Session Two' reminded me of how delicate trust can be in a relationship, especially when boundaries are pushed by unconventional challenges. The concept of a no-face, no-names weekend getaway is a compelling way to test the strength of love, yet it inevitably stirs emotions that could lead to complicated feelings, as seen with Tim and Breeze. In my experience, when couples introduce elements of secrecy—even with good intentions—it often signals underlying insecurities or unvoiced issues. The story’s choice to have Tim pick someone from his past who still harbors feelings clearly intensified this complexity. It made me wonder: how much transparency is necessary to keep a relationship healthy when temptation arises? Another aspect that resonated with me was the portrayal of perspective. Having a consistent point of view can deepen our understanding of characters’ motivations and emotions. The shift in Tim's characterization between sessions hinted at a lack of cohesion, which could dilute reader empathy. The scene where Tim immediately declines attending a work event to avoid Mercedes' invitation struck a chord. Avoidance can be a coping mechanism, but it may also hint at unresolved tension. This nuanced scenario invites readers to reflect on how avoiding conflict in real life sometimes creates more discomfort than confronting it. Overall, the narrative explores the precarious balance between desire, loyalty, and honesty in relationships, which is a theme many can relate to. While the story’s pacing and character development could be improved, it sparks valuable conversation about the boundaries couples set and how those boundaries evolve under pressure. For readers interested in romance stories that emphasize emotional realism and the trials of sustaining love under unusual circumstances, 'Therapy Session Two' provides a thought-provoking glimpse into the complexities of commitment.
