(The pics got cropped in some weird way UGH)
1. So good! Kept me guessing
2. Wow ! So so good! Did not see that coming
3. Freida can do no wrong. Also very very good. Kept me guessing the whole time. Just when I thought I knew what was going on… 💀💀 I was so wrong.
4. This was a super interesting read! I was captivated by her discipline to trek this journey. Even though sometimes her journey had me STRESSED.
5. This was.. eh. Twist at the end. But I was weirdly unsatisfied? I had higher hopes. But what I DID like, was all the different perspectives on motherhood. That was very validating for me.
6. A lot of 👹 ritual stuff. 🤢 also felt a little slow? Eventually got there. But eh I liked gone girl better
In May, I immersed myself in a variety of intriguing mystery novels, many of which kept me guessing until the very end. One standout book was 'The Locked Door' by Freida McFadden, which I rated 4.5 out of 5. The unexpected twists in the plot had me hooked, making it a must-read for mystery lovers. Freida McFadden's ability to weave suspense and surprise is unparalleled, as seen in her other works like 'Do Not Disturb' and 'The Crash', both of which received high praise from readers. Another fascinating read was 'From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail' by Cheryl Strayed, which, while not strictly a mystery, was an engaging exploration of personal journeys and overcoming obstacles. I found her discipline to trek the trail both inspiring and relatable. While 'The Perfect Mother' by Aimee Molloy offered interesting perspectives on motherhood intertwined with elements of suspense, it generated a mix of feelings for me regarding its ending. Then there was 'Dark Places' by Gillian Flynn, known for her gripping storytelling, which also made quite an impact during my reading month. These books not only entertained but also sparked conversations about different aspects of life, making my May reading experience both enjoyable and enriching. As I reflect on these reads, I encourage fellow book lovers to share their recommendations, particularly in the mystery genre, to keep the thrilling narrative alive!
