Overcoming Life’s Overwhelm (when nothings fine)
Did you know that talking about overwhelm actually helps other people feel less alone?
Because here’s the thing—
Most of us are walking around like we’ve got it handled… while quietly drowning.
Ever feel like life is just too much all at once?
Not one big thing. Just everything.
The noise. The expectations. The never-ending list of “shoulds.”
You’re not broken. You’re human.
For me, overwhelm usually hits when I’ve been holding it together for too long.
When I’ve been the reliable one. The strong one. The “I’ve got it” person.
And when it gets heavy, I don’t fix it with motivation quotes or toxic positivity.
I do something simple instead.
Sometimes it’s a deep breath—like a real one, not the fake inhale-exhale we do while still spiraling.
Sometimes it’s stepping outside.
Sometimes it’s getting behind the wheel with the windows down and letting my brain catch up to my body.
Nothing dramatic.
Nothing aesthetic.
Just space.
And that small reset?
It doesn’t solve everything—but it gives me enough calm to take the next step instead of shutting down.
That moment when your shoulders drop?
When your thoughts slow down just enough?
That’s the breakthrough.
You don’t have to carry it all perfectly.
You just have to keep going honestly.
If you’re comfortable—what’s your go-to reset when everything feels like too much?
Drop it in the comments. Someone reading this probably needs it today.
