It’s always a joy to open up my sketchbook and share a glimpse into my creative world. Recently, I've been really enjoying sketching a vampire bat. There's something so captivating about its unique anatomy and the challenge of capturing its texture and movement. I spent a lot of time on the wings, trying to get that delicate, leathery feel right. For anyone curious about drawing animals, my tip would be to start with basic shapes and then gradually build up the details – don't be afraid to use reference photos! It makes a huge difference in achieving accuracy and personality. Another piece that's become "prob one of my favorite pieces" to work on is an intricate eyeball drawing. The human eye is incredibly complex, with so many layers of light, shadow, and reflection. It’s a fantastic subject for practicing realism and understanding how light interacts with different surfaces. When drawing eyes, remember that the pupil isn't just a black dot; it has depth. Also, pay attention to the reflections – they often tell a story about the environment. Sometimes, you create something that might be unfinished but I like it anyway. And that's perfectly okay! Not every sketch needs to be a masterpiece or perfectly rendered. Some of my most cherished sketches are those raw, spontaneous moments where an idea just flows onto the page. They capture the essence of a moment or a concept, and there's a certain beauty in their incompleteness. Don't let the fear of not finishing hold you back from exploring new things in your sketchbook. Embrace the process, the exploration, and the joy of creation.
