🟢🚝 BMA to increase the fare of the Green Line Extension to compensate for the loss at the end of the line up to 65 of the original 62 baht starting 1 Nov. 68.
The deputy governor of Bangkok, Vishnu Sampol, revealed that Bangkok is preparing to restructure the fares of the Green Line project in three extensions: Chuit-Khukang, Bang-Samut Prakan and Pho Nimit-Bang, which will take effect from November 1, 2025 onwards.
The BMA currently oversees a total of 36 stations with a distance of 44 km. This fare adjustment is a change from the original rate of 15 baht throughout the line to a "Distance Fare" structure to reflect the actual cost of service and maintain the stability of the mass transit system in the long run.
For the new rate, travel within the extension will start at 17 baht and increase by a distance of not more than 45 baht. Passengers who cross the concession section and the extension will have a maximum fare of not more than 65 baht (up to 3 baht), which is still lower than the average fare of metro systems in major cities around the world.
In the past, the BMA collected only 15 baht of extension fares along the line, which did not meet the cost of transportation and maintenance costs. The BMA has to bear the cost and spend more than 6,000 million baht of annual compensation. The revenue from the extension is about 2,400 million baht per year, while the total expenditure is 9,012 million baht. This fare restructuring is necessary to enable the city's mass transit system to operate in a sustainable and efficient manner.
However, aware of the potential impact on the public, the BMA has appropriately organized relief and assistance measures:

👨🏻🦳 and seniors (60 +) 50% discount
The main affected groups are passengers travelling only on the extension, whose fares will increase by 2-30 baht per distance, and passengers using only the original concession will not change.
The BMA maintains that it will act prudently, not to place an undue burden on the public, while maintaining standards, providing convenient, safe and cost-effective services in accordance with the principles of modern urban mass transit.

การปรับโครงสร้างค่าโดยสารรถไฟฟ้าสายสีเขียวส่วนต่อขยายในครั้งนี้เป็นการตอบสนองต่อภาระทางการเงินที่ กทม. ต้องรับผิดชอบ โดยเฉพาะในส่วนของต้นทุนค่าจ้างเดินรถและค่าบำรุงรักษาที่สูงกว่ารายได้ที่ได้รับจากค่าโดยสารเก่า ซึ่งยึดแบบเหมาจ่าย 15 บาทตลอดสายมาเป็นเวลานาน ทำให้ กทม. ต้องรับภาระขาดทุนอย่างต่อเนื่องถึงปีละกว่า 6,000 ล้านบาท การเข้าสู่โครงสร้างค่าโดยสารตามระยะทาง (Distance Fare) จะช่วยให้ต้นทุนค่าใช้จ่ายและรายได้สอดคล้องกันมากขึ้น พร้อมทั้งยังรักษาความมั่นคงของระบบได้ในระยะยาว อย่างไรก็ตามเพื่อเป็นการบรรเทาผลกระทบกับผู้โดยสารที่เป็นกลุ่มเปราะบาง กทม. ได้จัดมาตรการลดค่าโดยสารให้เด็กและนักศึกษาอายุไม่เกิน 23 ปี ลด 30% และผู้สูงอายุ 60 ปีขึ้นไป ลด 50% ซึ่งช่วยให้ผู้โดยสารกลุ่มนี้ยังสามารถเข้าถึงระบบรถไฟฟ้าได้อย่างเหมาะสม ทั้งนี้ส่วนอื่น ๆ ของระบบรถไฟฟ้าสายสีเขียวที่ยังอยู่ในส่วนสัมปทานจะไม่มีการปรับค่าโดยสาร เพื่อรักษาเสถียรภาพราคาสำหรับผู้โดยสารเดิมที่ใช้เส้นทางนี้อยู่เดิม การเพิ่มค่าโดยสารครั้งนี้ แม้จะสูงสุดไม่เกิน 65 บาท แต่ยังถือว่าต่ำกว่าค่าโดยสารเฉลี่ยของระบบรถไฟฟ้าในเมืองใหญ่ทั่วโลก ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของ กทม. ในการจัดหาคุณภาพการบริการที่ดีและราคาเป็นธรรม เพื่อให้ผู้โดยสารได้รับความสะดวก ปลอดภัย และคุ้มค่ากับค่าโดยสารที่จ่ายไป ซึ่งการบริหารจัดการอย่างรอบคอบนี้ยังช่วยให้ระบบขนส่งมวลชนในกรุงเทพฯ สามารถพัฒนาและขยายตัวอย่างมั่นคงและยั่งยืนต่อไปในอนาคต ประชาชนที่ต้องการสอบถามข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมหรือส่งข้อเสนอแนะสามารถติดต่อได้ที่ สำนักการจราจรและขนส่ง กรุงเทพมหานคร บริษัท กรุงเทพธนาคม จำกัด หรือ บริษัท ระบบขนส่งมวลชนกรุงเทพ จำกัด (มหาชน) รวมทั้งติดตามข้อมูลผ่านเว็บไซต์และช่องทางโซเชียลมีเดียดังที่ประกาศไว้ เพื่อให้เข้าใจในรายละเอียดและมาตรการต่าง ๆ ของการปรับค่าโดยสารอย่างครบถ้วน
