The BMA filed a major legislative amendment, increased power-income-restructuring, after a series of hearings since '68, waiting for the Department of the Interior to resume.
Bangkok. Overhaul of the "Bangkok Act," an old law that has been used for more than 40 years, with a focus on "aorta surgery," restructuring the city to be more modern and streamlined.

• 12 Dec 68: Proposed draft Act to the Minister of the Interior for approval in principle.
• Present (May 69): In the process of approving in principle, before entering into consideration by the Home Ministry's Bills Review Committee and submitting to the Cabinet Secretariat in the next order.

จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวที่มีโอกาสได้ติดตามความเคลื่อนไหวและเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมรับฟังความเห็นเกี่ยวกับการแก้ไข พ.ร.บ.กรุงเทพฯ พบว่า การนำเสนอด้วยวิธีการที่หลากหลาย เช่น การจัดกิจกรรมออนไลน์ ลงพื้นที่ หรือแม้แต่การใช้บอร์ดเกม "My Bangkok" "Unnamed Road" และ "Vote and Fund" ช่วยให้คนเมืองทุกวัยสามารถเข้าใจและมีส่วนร่วมในการปรับปรุงระบบบริหารเมืองได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ การแก้ไขกฎหมายครั้งนี้ไม่เพียงแต่ช่วยปรับอำนาจหน้าที่ให้สอดคล้องกับสถานการณ์ปัจจุบัน แต่ยังเติมเต็มเรื่องการจัดเก็บรายได้ที่เหมาะสมและทันสมัย ส่งผลให้กรุงเทพฯ มีงบประมาณมากขึ้นสำหรับพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของประชาชน เช่น การเพิ่มพื้นที่สีเขียว ปรับปรุงคมนาคม และระบบสาธารณูปโภคต่างๆ อีกหนึ่งประเด็นที่น่าสนใจคือการปรับโครงสร้างการบริหารให้เป็น 2 ชั้น คือ ระดับเมืองและระดับเขต ซึ่งถือเป็นการกระจายอำนาจเพื่อให้การจัดการท้องถิ่นมีความคล่องตัว สามารถตอบโจทย์ความต้องการของประชาชนในแต่ละพื้นที่ได้ดียิ่งขึ้น ในฐานะคนที่อาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเทพฯ รู้สึกว่าการเปิดรับฟังความคิดเห็นแบบนี้เป็นโอกาสดีที่จะทำให้เสียงของคนเมืองมีส่วนร่วมอย่างแท้จริง และหวังว่าการพิจารณาและดำเนินการในขั้นตอนต่อไปจะเกิดขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็ว เพื่อปลดล็อกศักยภาพของกรุงเทพฯ สู่การเป็นเมืองที่น่าอยู่และมีความทันสมัยในอนาคตอันใกล้นี้
