In the election of the governor of Bangkok, Shachchan, Ethnic Rights, or Trip, ran as an independent candidate, receiving the number 9 and driving the campaign through the main communication campaign "Bangkok Works!," which emphasized moving forward to manage the capital and continuing to work to solve the problems of the people.
Chachchan Righteous, now 60 years old, born May 24, 1966, graduated from secondary education from Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School and Preparatory School, then went on to higher education until graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Civil Engineering (1st Honors, Gold Medal) from Chulalongkorn University.
He graduated with two master's degrees in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, and in business administration from Chulalongkorn University, before graduating with a PhD in civil engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA.
In terms of career and general work, Shachchan began working as a structural engineer at Skidmore, Owings & Merrills in Chicago, Illinois, United States, before returning to serve as a professor at Chulalongkorn University School of Engineering and as assistant president of property management, Chulalongkorn University. He also served as a director in a number of enterprises, such as Radio Aviation of Thailand Limited, Transit Authority of Thailand and Transportation Company Limited. As well as having private sector management experience as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Qualityhouse Limited and Independent Director, Land & House Public Limited.
For his route and political experience, Shachchan helped with the Department of Transport in the past before being appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Transport and rising to the position of Minister of Transport in the national political area. He was affiliated with the Party for Thailand and was nominated as one of the party's Prime Ministers in the 2019 general election.
He was previously appointed to the National Strategy Committee on Building Competitiveness in 2017, before later filing his resignation letter. Also, Shashshatchan is the 17th former governor of Bangkok.
