Crested Cicada, Fragrant Blossom Orchid from the Ban Sea National Park Forest
Researcher's version of the secret story...Know the wild orchid by the National Park Innovation Research and Development Center, Surat Thani Province, and introduce it to another wild orchid, Pelatantheria cristata (Ridl.) Ridl.
This orchid was explored at Ban Nam National Park, 100 to 500 meters above sea level.
It is a late orchid, with a trunk that stretches more than 30 centimeters long, a short internode of 1.5-2 centimeters.
Leaves, parallel border shape, 1.2x7 centimeters, succulent, narrow exam end, rounded, unequal confluence, 9 centimeters long inflorescence, 1 centimeter long bouquet stalk.
There are up to 10 flowers. Fragrant. Yellow sepals and petals. With brown flowering lines. Red brown draped longitudinally. The sepals have mid-flowering ridges. Curved in the shape of paws. The ends are joined in shallow pouches. The upper sepals are 5 millimeters long. The lower pair of sepals are 6 millimeters long. Angled above the level.
The petals are spread wide, similar in color and length to the lower pair of sepals, cut end. The mouth petals are about 8.5 millimeters long. White with a purple smudge pattern is not orderly. The ears are atrophied. The apex triangle is set up. 3.5 millimeters wide. 2.5 millimeters high.
The apex has a fang-like trunk that folds towards each other. The apex of the mouth lobe is 6 millimeters wide, 5 millimeters long, arrow shaped, the apex pointed downwards. The large, cone-shaped, flowering chin is found in Malaysia, Sumatra, Thailand, in trees. In low-level moist forests, in lowland forests, 100-500 meters high, flowering during June-August.
