National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Species Inaugural Day
October 2 of each year is the Inaugural Day of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Species. By decree, Volume 119, Part 99a, dated October 2, 2002, to establish the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Species in the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment to separate the work on economic forests and the work on conservation and forest protection. The work on economic forests is with the Forest Service. The work on conservation and protection is with the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Species.
The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Species has undertaken a mission on conservation, promoting and restoring forest, wildlife and plant species resources, in forest zones for conservation, by regulating, restoring existing conservation forest areas and degraded forest areas to complete with a promotion strategy, as a means of maintaining ecological and environmental balance, as well as biodiversity, for being watersheds, wildlife habitats, food sources, recreation and natural tourism sites of the public.
For the 23rd anniversary, the National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Species Service continues to dominate, oversee, prevent intrusion into forest resources, as well as reduce the impact of climate change, restore ecosystems to abundant forests, along with the development of forest-friendly careers and make good use of natural resources in forest areas, according to the vision of the National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Species Service, which is to "protect, restore, restore, preserve forests to sustainable mutual benefit."

เวลาเราเสิร์ชคำว่า “กรมสัตว์ป่าและพันธุ์พืช” หลายคนอาจหมายถึง “กรมอุทยานแห่งชาติ สัตว์ป่า และพันธุ์พืช” ซึ่งเป็นหน่วยงานสำคัญของกระทรวงทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม ที่ทำงานด้านป่าอนุรักษ์ สัตว์ป่า และพันธุ์พืชโดยตรง (ต่างจากงานป่าเศรษฐกิจที่อยู่คนละหน่วยงาน) พอรู้จุดนี้แล้ว เวลาติดตามข่าวเรื่องอุทยานฯ ไฟป่า การบุกรุก หรือการช่วยเหลือสัตว์ป่า เราจะเห็นภาพว่า “ใครรับผิดชอบอะไร” ชัดขึ้นมาก อีกคำถามที่เจอบ่อยคือ “วันสถาปนากรมอุทยานฯ ตรงกับวันไหน” คำตอบคือ วันที่ 2 ตุลาคมของทุกปีค่ะ สำหรับปีที่ครบรอบ 23 ปี ก็จะมีการสื่อสารเรื่องภารกิจและทิศทางการทำงานให้ประชาชนรับรู้มากขึ้น โดยสาระที่ชอบมากคือวิสัยทัศน์แนว “คุ้มครอง ฟื้นฟู ป่าอนุรักษ์ให้มีความสมบูรณ์ เพื่ออำนวยประโยชน์ร่วมกันอย่างยั่งยืน” เพราะสะท้อนว่าการอนุรักษ์ไม่ใช่แค่ “กันคนออกจากป่า” แต่คือการทำให้ระบบนิเวศกลับมาแข็งแรง และให้คนใช้ประโยชน์ได้แบบไม่ทำลายกันในระยะยาว ถ้าถามว่า “กรมสัตว์ป่าและพันธุ์พืชทำอะไรบ้าง” ในมุมคนทั่วไปที่ติดตามข่าว จะเห็นงานหลัก ๆ เช่น - คุ้มครองและดูแลพื้นที่ป่าเพื่อการอนุรักษ์ (เช่น อุทยานแห่งชาติ/เขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่า) - ป้องกันและควบคุมการบุกรุกทำลายป่า รวมถึงการลักลอบล่าสัตว์ - ฟื้นฟูพื้นที่ป่าเสื่อมโทรมให้กลับสมบูรณ์ เพื่อเป็นแหล่งต้นน้ำ ที่อยู่อาศัย และแหล่งอาหารของสัตว์ป่า - สนับสนุนการท่องเที่ยวเชิงธรรมชาติและนันทนาการ โดยเน้นสมดุล “เที่ยวได้-ธรรมชาติอยู่ได้” ส่วนตัวเวลาไปเที่ยวอุทยานฯ จะรู้สึกว่าหน้าที่ของเราคือช่วย “ลดภาระการดูแล” ทางอ้อม เช่น แยกขยะให้ถูก งดให้อาหารสัตว์ ไม่ส่งเสียงดังในเส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติ และทำตามข้อกำหนดของพื้นที่ เพราะเรื่องเล็ก ๆ แบบนี้ช่วยลดผลกระทบต่อสัตว์ป่าได้จริง ถ้าคุณกำลังค้นหาข้อมูลเพื่อทำรายงาน/ทำคอนเทนต์ แนะนำให้ใช้คำเต็ม “กรมอุทยานแห่งชาติ สัตว์ป่า และพันธุ์พืช” ควบคู่กับคำค้นนิยม “กรมสัตว์ป่าและพันธุ์พืช” จะช่วยให้เจอข้อมูลที่ตรงและครบขึ้น โดยเฉพาะเรื่องวันสถาปนา 2 ตุลาคม และภารกิจด้านคุ้มครอง-ฟื้นฟูป่าอนุรักษ์ค่ะ
