First found in Dawei, Mianam, it is an orchid based on arid and deciduous forests found throughout all parts of Thailand.
Stems with elliptical banana stems, yellow-green, firm up against each other, old stems with surrounding ridges, lanceolate, lanceolate parallel-edged leaves, pointed slender leaf tips, slender exam cones so smooth that they look like smooth leaf-edged pedicels, leaf plates on both sides, 3 obvious bottom leaf lines
The bouquet is formed by the side eye near the base of the new bouquet, the bouquet is set. The end of the bouquet is often curved down, each bouquet has 3-7 flowers arranged closely. The flower is cream-colored, the petals are glabrous, the edges are parallel, the petals are similar, but slightly narrower. The petals are shaped, the edges are parallel, and the petals are cream.
Oval lobe, semicircle-shaped side lobes, light green top, brown-green bottom. At the end there is a slight wavy thin edge. In the middle of the mouth there are three wavy yellow-gamma ridges, a high ridge and a little longer than the middle ridge. At the end of the ridge there is a short ridge, one on each side. The end of the middle ridge separates into three other ridges. The end of the ridge is a rough blister.
The flowers are fragrant, giving the smell of this kind of orchid, even at a distance, found at a height of 500-1,200 meters above mean sea level flowering October-December.
They are often found in large numbers of clumps on rocks or in trees in the forest of Chrysanthemum, arid rainforests and open, light, distributed montane forests in Thailand, Mianamar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia.

เอื้องหมาก หรือในชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์ว่า Coelogyne trinervis Lindl. ถือเป็นกล้วยไม้ชนิดหนึ่งที่มีความโดดเด่นเฉพาะตัวด้วยกลิ่นหอมอ่อนๆ ซึ่งช่วยดึงดูดแมลงช่วยผสมเกสร และเป็นที่รู้จักกันในชื่อ "ราชินีแห่งป่าเต็งรัง" เมื่อพบในธรรมชาติของป่าดิบแล้งและป่าผลัดใบ ลักษณะเด่นของเอื้องหมากคือ ลำต้นที่มีลักษณะเหมือนลำลูกกล้วยสีเขียวแกมเหลืองแน่นเป็นก้อน ใบจะมีรูปขอบขนานปลายเรียวแหลมซึ่งช่วยให้สามารถรับแสงได้อย่างเหมาะสมในสภาพป่าที่มีแสงผ่านเข้ามาจำกัด ช่อดอกของเอื้องหมากมักจะเจริญออกจากตาข้างใกล้ฐานของหน่อใหม่ ดอกจะเรียงติดกัน 3-7 ดอก มีสีครีมที่กลีบดอกและกลีบเลี้ยง โดยกลีบปากจะมีสีเขียวอ่อนผสมสีน้ำตาลที่ปลาย ดอกออกกลิ่นหอมที่สามารถสัมผัสได้แม้ในระยะไกล โดยออกดอกในช่วงเดือนตุลาคมถึงธันวาคม ที่ระดับความสูง 500-1,200 เมตรจากระดับน้ำทะเล ลักษณะของกลิ่นหอมที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์นี้ไม่เพียงแต่เพิ่มความสวยงามให้ธรรมชาติเท่านั้น แต่ยังบ่งบอกถึงความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของระบบนิเวศในป่าเต็งรังและป่าเบญจพรรณ อีกทั้งการกระจายพันธุ์ของเอื้องหมากครอบคลุมหลายประเทศในภูมิภาค Southeast Asia อาทิ เมียนม่าร์ ลาว เวียดนาม กัมพูชา มาเลเซีย และอินโดนีเซีย ในประเทศไทย เราสามารถพบเอื้องหมากในหลายจังหวัด รวมถึงจังหวัดกำแพงเพชรที่มีอุทยานแห่งชาติคลองลานซึ่งเป็นแหล่งธรรมชาติที่อนุรักษ์พันธุ์พืชและสัตว์ป่าได้อย่างดี เหมาะแก่การศึกษาธรรมชาติและสัมผัสความสวยงามของกล้วยไม้ดอกหอมชนิดนี้ นอกจากนี้ เอื้องหมากยังมีความสำคัญในทางอนุรักษ์ เพราะเป็นตัวชี้วัดความสมบูรณ์ของระบบนิเวศ หากเจ้าเอื้องหมากเหล่านี้ยังคงเจริญเติบโตและออกดอกได้ดี แสดงให้เห็นว่าป่าดังกล่าวยังคงรักษาสภาพความอุดมสมบูรณ์ไว้อย่างดี ซึ่งเป็นประโยชน์สำหรับนักอนุรักษ์และผู้ที่สนใจศึกษาธรรมชาติ สำหรับผู้ที่ชอบการเดินป่าหรือรักธรรมชาติ การได้ชมเอื้องหมากในช่วงที่ออกดอกพร้อมกลิ่นหอมสดชื่น ถือเป็นประสบการณ์ที่น่าประทับใจและช่วยเพิ่มความเข้าใจในความสำคัญของการอนุรักษ์พันธุ์ไม้ประจำถิ่นให้กับทุกคน ดังนั้น เอื้องหมากไม่ใช่เพียงแค่กล้วยไม้ที่สวยงามและมีกลิ่นหอม แต่ยังเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของผืนป่าที่อุดมสมบูรณ์และระบบนิเวศที่สมดุลในอุทยานแห่งชาติคลองลานและพื้นที่อนุรักษ์อื่นๆ ทั่วภูมิภาคนี้
