Patrols find "white-handed gibbons" in Salween Wildlife Sanctuary
On the way to a qualitative patrol in a vast area of forest, the Sarawin Wildlife Sanctuary rangers encountered a herd of white-handed gibbons hanging around with unique nodes and sounds, recording and capturing the livelihood of a herd of white-handed gibbons this time for further conservation information.
White-handed, tailless gibbons have two colors: dark brown to black, or red-colored and white-fronted, white hands and feet; the pattern of color is not related to gender.
It is found in many types of forests, such as tengrang forest, rainforest, bamboo forest, chrysanthemum forest, swamp forest, mainly found in areas below 1,200 meters, distributed in Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand. It is a protected wildlife under the Wildlife Reservation and Protection Act 2019.
