"Waterfall algae," a tiny insect-eating plant in Sri Phang Nga National Park
The small flowers seen in the picture are lucky, and while on patrol, the rangers found insect-eating plants that were both beautiful and colorful.
Waterfall algae (carnivorousplant), scientific name, is an insect-eating plant with bulbous, insect-trapping or small organisms in the soil. Often up sam with mosses along stone walls with water constantly flowing under wooden shade.
The pedicel is about 2-3 centimeters long, and the flower is only 7 millimeters, but with eye-catching colors, against the green ground, you can see the beauty of the nature of the forest of Si Phang Nga National Park.

สาหร่ายน้ำตก เป็นพืชกินแมลงชนิดหนึ่งที่นอกจากจะมีขนาดเล็กกะทัดรัดแล้ว ยังมีสีสันที่โดดเด่นจนดึงดูดใจผู้พบเห็นอย่างมาก ในการเดินทางไปยังอุทยานแห่งชาติศรีพังงา ผมได้มีโอกาสพบเห็นสาหร่ายน้ำตกแซมตามผนังหินใต้น้ำตกที่มีความชื้นสูงและมีร่มเงาของต้นไม้อย่างเหมาะสม จากที่ได้ศึกษาเพิ่มเติมพบว่าสาหร่ายน้ำตกมีระบบดักจับแมลงด้วยกระเปาะเล็กๆ ซึ่งช่วยให้พืชชนิดนี้สามารถย่อยแมลงตัวเล็กๆ เพื่อเสริมอาหารในสภาพแวดล้อมที่มีสารอาหารในดินจำกัด ความน่าทึ่งอีกอย่างคือดอกของสาหร่ายน้ำตกมีขนาดเพียง 7 มิลลิเมตรเท่านั้น แต่กลับมีกลีบดอกที่มีสีสันสดใส เหมือนการแต่งตัวอย่างสวยงามในธรรมชาติ เจ้าหน้าที่พิทักษ์ป่าของอุทยานแห่งชาติศรีพังงาถ่ายรูปและบันทึกข้อมูลไว้เป็นอย่างดี ซึ่งช่วยเผยแพร่ความงดงามและคุณค่าทางนิเวศวิทยาของพืชชนิดนี้ให้คนทั่วไปได้รู้จักมากขึ้น สำหรับผู้ที่ชื่นชอบธรรมชาติและการสำรวจพืชป่าที่มีเอกลักษณ์แบบนี้ ผมแนะนำว่าควรเดินทางไปเยี่ยมชมและศึกษาเรียนรู้ในการอนุรักษ์ความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพของไทย
