🌿 Get to know "Pudmonth," the jewel of the Southern Forest. 🌸

Today, the 6th Pattani Branch of the Conservation Administration takes everyone to a rare resident tree makeover, which is "Pudmonth."

"Pudmonth," scientific name: Hedychium longicornutum) is a plant in the ginger family that is unique in that it is a "resident-based plant" (Epiphyte), often perched along large trees in complete evergreen forests.

In Thailand, we can find Pudawan only in the southern border forests, especially in the area of Hala-Bala Wildlife Sanctuary, Yala and Narathiwat, which is one of Thailand's most important natural classrooms.

Together, pride and preserve Thai resources. Let the southern forest remain beautiful and diverse like this forever. 🌱✨

ปุดเดือนเป็นพืชในวงศ์ขิงที่มีลักษณะพิเศษ คือ การเป็นพืชอิงอาศัย ซึ่งหมายความว่ามันจะเจริญเติบโตโดยการเกาะติดกับต้นไม้ใหญ่ในป่าดิบชื้น แม้จะไม่ทำร้ายต้นไม้ที่มันเกาะอยู่แต่ก็ได้รับความชุ่มชื้นและแสงแดดที่เพียงพอจากสภาพแวดล้อมโดยรอบ ผมมีโอกาสได้ไปเยี่ยมชมป่าที่เขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าฮาลา-บาลา ที่จังหวัดยะลา เห็นดอกปุดเดือนบานสะพรั่งด้วยสีแดงส้มเหลืองสดใสท่ามกลางใบไม้สีเขียว เป็นภาพที่สวยงามและทำให้เข้าใจถึงความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพของป่าใต้ไทยมากขึ้น รากของปุดเดือนจะแผ่พันรอบกิ่งไม้ จับยึดไว้แน่น เหมือนกับเป็นการแสดงวิถีชีวิตของพืชที่ต้องพึ่งพาธรรมชาติอย่างใกล้ชิด การอนุรักษ์ป่าและพื้นที่เหล่านี้จึงมีความสำคัญมาก เพราะช่วยรักษาสภาพแวดล้อมให้พืชอิงอาศัยอย่างปุดเดือนยังคงอยู่ได้ต่อไป หากใครสนใจในการอนุรักษ์หรืออยากชมความงามของปุดเดือน แนะนำให้เดินทางไปยังเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าฮาลา-บาลา โดยเฉพาะในช่วงที่ดอกกำลังบาน จะได้เห็นความมหัศจรรย์ของธรรมชาติอย่างใกล้ชิด และยังเป็นการสนับสนุนการอนุรักษ์ธรรมชาติของภาคใต้เมืองไทยอีกด้วย
