Wellness Tips that changed my life

As of this morning, I’m down 40 pounds since my besties wedding in November. Here’s how I did it:

1. Get Moving

I work at a desk computer all day, so I was NOT trying in my steps. I decided I needed a change, so I started going to the gym before work every day. It made me less sluggish in the morning, and I actually started to look forward to it! I will also park a little farther from the store to get more steps in, make two trips to being in groceries, just little things like that. I try to get 7,000 steps in daily.

2. Drink that agua

You gotta drink your water. It’s good for you and you’ll feel better.

3. Track your food.

Game changer for me was an activity tracker and tracking my food. It really put it in perspective for me, and I started making better choices.

4. Don’t let a stumble turn into a fall

There are days you will ‘fail’ (Eat too much, not burn as many calories as you want, scale will show a higher number) but you can’t throw in the towel. You just decide to do things differently the next day. Health is a marathon, not a sprint.

5. Love yourself

It sounds hella cliche, but you need to actually live or like yourself to do better. If you realize you are worth the effort and a healthier future is worth the effort, it’s easier. Some days I hate what I see in the mirror, but I hype myself up. Give myself compliments on what I see. Treat myself. Walk a little taller.

Instead of giving up after a bad day, focus on the small victories and set realistic goals for yourself. Lastly, practicing self-love and acceptance cannot be overstated. When you appreciate your worth, it becomes easier to commit to a healthy lifestyle. Celebrate your progress, no matter how minor, and surround yourself with supportive individuals who uplift you. Embrace these changes, and they can lead you to achieve not just your weight loss goals, but a more fulfilling, healthier life overall.
