OUR 1st KUHLI’S FLYING GECKO CLUTCH OF 2025

It's absolutely thrilling to see those tiny Gekko kuhlii eggs finally hatch! After years of dreaming about it, holding those little hatchlings is truly surreal. For anyone else out there curious about gecko breeding or just excited about *tiny gecko hatchlings*, let me share a bit about what comes next and some of my experiences. When these little guys first emerge from their eggs, they are incredibly delicate and require specialized care. My first step is making sure their new home is perfectly set up. For these flying gecko babies, a smaller enclosure with plenty of climbing opportunities – think thin branches and cork bark – is crucial. Humidity is key, so I mist their enclosure several times a day to keep it between 70-80%. Substrate choices are important too; I use coco fiber or sphagnum moss to hold moisture, but I make sure it's not too deep that they can get lost or stuck. Feeding a tiny gecko hatchling is another adventure! They start on fruit flies or small pinhead crickets dusted with calcium and vitamin supplements. It's amazing to watch their hunting instincts kick in even at such a young age. Monitoring their hydration is also vital – sometimes I offer a small water dish or just rely on the misting. Successfully hatching and raising a clutch of geckos feels like a huge level up in my reptile keeping journey. It’s a testament to patient observation and consistent care. Kuhli's Flying Geckos (Gekko kuhlii) themselves are just fascinating. They're nocturnal, arboreal, and known for their amazing camouflage and their ability to 'glide' short distances using their skin flaps – though it's more like a controlled fall! They're generally shy but can be incredibly rewarding to observe. Their diet mostly consists of insects, but they also enjoy fruit purees. Getting to this point, from watching them lay their clutch to seeing these tiny gecko hatchlings thriving, has been an incredible experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. It's definitely encouraged me to keep pursuing this passion and hopefully, we'll have many more successful clutches in the future!
