Target Run for revamping Body Wash for cystic skin

Lately, I’ve been slowly going to the cleaner and healthier body washes (although I still love a good smelling Bath & Body works shower gels which by the way are making major improvements on their products, but I will talk about that in another post) to help combat and prevent cystic skin due to having PCOS.

Well, for the most part from my neck down, my skin is pretty nice. They are certain areas of improvement that I can work on to improve the texture and clarity of it .

With that being said, I am trying something new for a change, which is the Naturium's The Smoother Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash and Saltair Santal Bloom Body Wash. Dr Bonners 18-in-1 hemp pure Castille Soap - Tea Tree. The best news is all three of these. Body washes are vegan.

Starting with Naturium, I am not exactly new to this brand I have used the glowing gel body wash, which I do love, and I have their Salicylic acid body wash but I apparently broke the top of the bottle that I kind of had to scrape it out. I will this glycolic acid wasn’t what I was expecting. I thought it would be a lot more exfoliating, but it wasn’t really bad so I can’t say for sure if I’m going to like this.

As for Dr. Bonner I have used this in the past and I’m not sure exactly why I stop using it maybe because I was trying to other skincare but I decided to go back to a oldie but a goodie and the best thing about this particular body wash is that 1). A little ago a very long way. 2). It is clean in a vegan body wash. 3). With it being tea tree, it is anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti bacterial as well. 4). It does not strip the body of oil, nor does it leave the skin over drying. 5). Best of all very affordable, and can be found at any local drugstore.

Lastly , This is my first time buying anything from Saltair since I was inspired by many of the post on this app. This smell very nice and it lather very good, leaving my skin feel really great.

... Read moreHey everyone! Following up on my recent body wash discoveries, I wanted to dive a little deeper into why these types of ingredients are such game-changers, especially if you're dealing with issues like cystic skin, body acne, or even that pesky 'strawberry legs' texture. Many of you search for solutions like 'Naturium salicylic acid body wash' or 'CeraVe SA cleanser,' and it shows there's a real need for effective body care. While my original post highlighted Naturium's Glycolic Acid, let's talk about its cousin, Salicylic Acid (SA). Glycolic Acid vs. Salicylic Acid for Body Care: You might be wondering, what's the difference between the glycolic acid body wash I mentioned and a salicylic acid body wash? Both are fantastic exfoliants, but they work a little differently. Glycolic acid (an AHA) works mainly on the surface of your skin, gently dissolving dead skin cells to reveal smoother, brighter skin. It’s great for improving overall texture and tone, and can really help with dullness. Salicylic acid (a BHA), on the other hand, is oil-soluble, meaning it can penetrate deeper into your pores. This makes it incredibly effective for clearing out sebum and dead skin cells that can lead to breakouts, body acne, and those tiny red bumps often associated with 'strawberry legs' (keratosis pilaris). So, if your main concern is clogged pores, blackheads, or active breakouts on your body, an SA cleanser or body wash might be your holy grail. I've used Naturium's Salicylic Acid body wash before, and it was a powerhouse for keeping my back and chest clear! Beyond Exfoliation: The Power of Tea Tree & Hydration: It's not just about acids! My beloved Dr. Bronner's 18-in-1 Hemp Pure Castile Tea Tree Soap isn't just an 'oldie but goodie' because it's economical and clean. The tea tree oil in this tea tree pure-castile soap is a natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory ingredient. This is huge for soothing irritated skin and preventing further breakouts, which is vital for cystic skin. Finding a pure-castile soap with these benefits is a win-win! And let's not forget hydration, which is where a 'skin rejuvenating serum body wash' like the Saltair Santal Bloom comes in. While the acids work on clearing and smoothing, a good hydrating wash ensures your skin barrier stays intact and doesn't get stripped. This balance is key for healthy, happy skin, especially when you're actively treating conditions. My skin feels so soft and never tight after using it. Tips for Your Body Wash Routine: Start Slow: If you're new to exfoliating body washes, introduce them gradually, perhaps 2-3 times a week, and see how your skin reacts. Moisturize Daily: Always follow up with a good body lotion or cream, especially after using exfoliating washes. Patch Test: If you have super sensitive skin, do a patch test first. Listen to Your Skin: Some days your skin might need a gentle wash, other days a more active one. Don't Forget the Sunscreen: Exfoliating can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so always use SPF on exposed areas. Finding the right body wash can truly transform your skin from the neck down. It’s all about understanding your skin's needs and choosing ingredients that work synergistically. I hope this deeper dive helps you on your journey to clearer, smoother skin!
