Apps to help beginners in the gym

I’m not a beginner when it comes to the gym but since I’ve moved and switched how I workout, as well as having a bad knee

I use MuscleWiki to choose which muscle I want to work and it shows me exercises stretches etc.

Setgraph is great, not only does it have almost any exercise you can think of, if it doesn’t, you just keep typing and it will add it per whatever you want to call it and you can log sets reps durations ect

The nutrition app I use if I need the nutrition label to food and it changes measurements too

So for my gym girlies who are trying to figure out what exercises to do that are comfortable for them these apps should help.

... Read moreLet's dive a little deeper into why an app like Setgraph has become such an indispensable tool in my fitness routine, especially when you're navigating new workout styles or dealing with specific challenges like a bad knee. The original post briefly touched on its logging capabilities, but I want to emphasize just how transformative this can be for seeing real progress and staying motivated. For anyone serious about tracking their fitness journey, logging your workouts isn't just about jotting down numbers; it's about creating a tangible record of your strength gains, endurance improvements, and overall consistency. Setgraph excels here. Imagine being able to look back at your previous week's or month's 'Hamstring Leg Curl' or 'Standing Calf Raise' performance. You can instantly see the 'REPETITIONS & WEIGHT' you lifted, allowing you to strategically plan your next session to either increase the weight, add more reps, or perhaps maintain your current level if you're focusing on form. This kind of data-driven approach is truly empowering. One of the standout features mentioned, and something I absolutely adore, is the ability to add almost any exercise you can think of. If a specific move isn't in their database, you can simply type it in, and Setgraph allows you to create and save it. This is a lifesaver for those of us who enjoy variety, incorporate unique exercises from online coaches, or need to modify standard moves due to injuries. For instance, if you're doing 'Step Up Body Weight' with a specific variation for knee comfort, you can log that exact variation to ensure your tracking is precise. This flexibility means you're never limited by the app's existing library, making your 'exercise selection' truly personalized. Beyond just logging individual sets, a good tracking app helps you visualize your entire 'workout schedule.' While Setgraph focuses heavily on the in-session logging, the consistent use of such a tool indirectly helps you build a more disciplined routine. By logging every 'Upper Body' day or 'Legs' session, you create a historical record that indirectly forms your future 'workout schedule.' You can quickly see patterns, identify areas where you might be slacking, or recognize when you're overtraining. For those who are just starting out or feeling overwhelmed, having a reliable app like Setgraph simplifies the entire process. No more scribbling on a notepad or trying to remember your last set details. Everything is neatly organized, providing clear 'input fields for 'REPETITIONS & WEIGHT'' right there on your screen. This streamlined approach allows you to focus on your form and effort, rather than getting bogged down in administrative tasks during your workout. Plus, seeing that steady increase in '1 rep' with '0 lb' gradually becoming '10 reps' with '20 lb' is an incredible motivator. It reinforces that your hard work is paying off, which is crucial for long-term adherence to any fitness program. So, if you're looking for an app to truly elevate your gym tracking, Setgraph is definitely one to consider!
