If I could talk to my teenage self about skincare👀
If I could go back in time and tell my younger self about skincare I would go back quick to reverse the damages that have happened!!
When I was younger skincare was not important to me and I had no idea how important it was. I would go back and tell my younger self to take it more seriously.
I would tell myself to not tan outside and wear sunscreen all the time! I would also say to not pick at my skin! Wear a pimple patch instead. I would also tell myself to use more gentle skincare. I would also tell myself to properly wash my makeup off and not use makeup wipes only!
If you could go back to your younger self would you tell your self any of these tips?

Looking back at my teenage years, I realize how much I underestimated the importance of proper skincare. The damage caused by excessive sun exposure, harsh products, and poor cleansing habits can be very tough to reverse later in life. One of the biggest lessons is to never tan without protection. Sunburns not only cause immediate discomfort but they also accelerate skin aging and increase the risk of sun spots and skin cancer. Wearing broad-spectrum sunscreen every day, even when it's cloudy, is essential for maintaining healthy skin. Another valuable tip is to avoid picking at pimples or blemishes. It may be tempting, but this behavior can cause scarring and prolong the healing process. Instead, using pimple patches containing ingredients like salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and vitamin C can help soothe and heal spots without damage. Gentle skincare is key—many teenagers dive into harsh products without knowing their skin type or how ingredients may interact. Using gentle cleansers and moisturizers suited for sensitive skin helps maintain the skin barrier and reduces irritation. It's also vital to cleanse thoroughly at night to remove makeup and pollutants. Makeup wipes alone are typically not enough; incorporating a proper cleansing routine, such as using a cleansing oil followed by a gentle face wash, ensures your skin is truly clean and can breathe. These habits combined can dramatically improve skin health and prevent premature aging. If I had the chance, I would tell my younger self that consistent, gentle care and sun protection are the foundation for beautiful skin at any age. Omg yes! I wish I knew about sunscreen back then. My skin regrets it! 😭
