Winter is here and it’s super cold and dry!! I’ve had to update my skincare routine so my skin doesn’t flake off into pieces. Here is my go to winter skincare routine! It’s perfect for keeping my skin hydrated and protected!

My routine:

- milky toner: I love a milky toner because it’s a great step to adding hydration to the skin.

- vitamin c: I love to use a vitamin c every morning and this one is great at hydrating and targeting dark spots.

- thick moisturizer: this rhode moisturizer lives up to the hype because of how thick and hydrating it is!!

- sunscreen: you need to wear sunscreen all year round and this one has been my favorite because how it leaves my skin hydrated! It also has peptides in it.

From my experience, incorporating a milky toner with a rich texture helps to add a necessary layer of hydration without feeling heavy. I’ve found formulas with ceramides especially beneficial, as they support the skin’s natural barrier and reduce moisture loss. Vitamin C serums are another staple in my routine, not only for brightening but also for their antioxidant protection against environmental stressors that persist even in winter. Choosing one with hydrating ingredients, like green tea or other soothing extracts, can prevent that tight feeling skin sometimes gets after washing. A thick moisturizer is arguably the most important product during winter. I've gravitated towards those with emollients and humectants, which lock in moisture while nourishing the skin. Some moisturizers, such as the Rhode brand I use, have a glowing finish that adds to the skin's vitality, even on dull winter days. Lastly, sunscreen is non-negotiable year-round—even in winter—since UV rays can cause damage regardless of the season. The sunscreen I use includes peptides, which not only hydrate but also support collagen production, promoting skin elasticity and health. In summary, a winter skincare routine that layers hydration and protection is key. From toner to vitamin C, moisturizer, and an SPF with added skin-benefiting ingredients, these steps have kept my skin balanced and glowing despite harsh weather.
