Confidence comes when you know whose voice you're following.✅
People will always have opinions. They'll tell you what you can do, what you can't do, where you should go, and who you should be. But if we're not careful, we'll start valuing the opinions of people more than the voice of God.
Think about Peter walking on the water. As long as he focused on Jesus, he kept moving forward. The moment he focused on the wind and waves around him, he began to sink. The circumstances didn't change—his focus did.
The same is true for us. When we spend our lives listening to criticism, fear, doubt, and negativity, we become distracted from God's purpose. But when we stay focused on His Word, His promises become louder than the noise around us.
God's voice brings peace. People's opinions often bring confusion. God's voice brings direction. People's opinions often bring doubt. The key is learning to recognize which voice you're following.
Today, choose to turn down the volume of the world and turn up the volume of God's Word. When His voice becomes the loudest voice in your life, you'll walk with confidence, purpose, and peace. Amen. 🙏🏽

... Read moreIn my own journey, I've noticed how easy it is to get caught up in what everyone else thinks or expects. Just as the article points out with the example of Peter walking on water, our focus truly determines our progress. When I began intentionally tuning out negative voices and paying attention to my inner spiritual guidance, it transformed my confidence entirely.
One practical way I applied this was through daily reflection and scripture reading, which helped me discern God's promises and truths over the opinions that often filled my mind. I also remember a quote I read once: "When the voice and the vision on the inside is more profound and more clear and loud than all opinions on the outside, you've begun to master your life." This resonated with me deeply because, indeed, mastering confidence starts with knowing whose voice you let shape your reality.
Of course, it isn't always easy. Like Peter, moments of doubt can creep in when we suddenly hear the "wind and waves" of criticism or fear. But the more I practiced turning down those external noises and turning up the volume on God’s Word, the more I realized that confidence doesn’t come from ignoring challenges but from trusting that I am guided by a higher purpose.
For anyone struggling with self-doubt fueled by outside opinions, I suggest starting small: identify one or two negative voices you frequently hear and challenge their authority over your feelings. Replace that noise with affirmations from your faith or personal values. Over time, you’ll notice that your internal voice becomes clearer and stronger, offering the peace and direction described in the article.
Ultimately, confidence is a daily choice—choosing to focus on the divine voice rather than the chaotic noise of the world. By doing so, you walk not only in confidence but also in purpose and peace.
