We celebrated a very special occasion yesterday my baby cousins both graduated one from Highschool and one from Kindergarten. Every since my brother passed away getting together with our family has been very special to me. This song makes me cry bc moving to NYC to be closer to family was always a dream of my brother Richy and I both shared. Since moving back I’ve been having the time of my life and I feel so blessed and sad because I wish all the time Richy could have came along 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Richy would have been so proud of his favorite baby cousins 😭😭😭
Family gatherings take on a profound meaning when you have experienced loss, as they become moments to cherish the connections you still have. Celebrating the graduations of my young cousins reminded me not only of their achievements but of the importance of family support during such milestones. Moving to NYC was a dream my brother and I shared, representing hope and closeness, and now living that dream feels both joyful and bittersweet. Being close to family in NYC has opened new chapters filled with happiness and nostalgia. The city’s vibrant energy makes every gathering feel special, yet memories of those lost, like my brother Richy, remind me to treasure every moment. It’s amazing how music can evoke these deep emotions, making celebrations a mix of smiles and tears. If you have experienced a similar journey of loss and relocation, you might relate to how families grow stronger by supporting each other through life’s ups and downs. Embracing both joy and sadness helps us honor those who can’t be with us while celebrating the future generations who continue our legacy. It’s in these shared experiences that we find healing and lasting pride.
