Took my dog to the groomers🍉🌻
Yesterday, I took my dog to the PetSmart groomers for the first time. I felt a bit nervous on leaving him so I stayed for the 2 hours watching them trim his paw pads , nails while he was being overly dramatic and howling and then them taking him to the back to wash and blow out his first and second under coat. After 20 mins the nice groomer brought him out to brush him down with the furminator and tried to brush his teeth but he would not let her .
He was spritzed with a summer time cologne , was added on a summer time seasonal “Little Mermaid” bandanna and was out the door with mom and dad with a take home cookie which he enjoyed ! I even tried to look for the one he was given because he ate the whole thing and he’s very picky ! And we were also given $400 in coupons which I used a $10 off for the furminator and my price went from &98 to $88!
The next day(today) he was super soft (it took a day for him to dry up more ) and still smelt amazing and we decided to take him to the groomers every 3-4 months !
Hearing from so many of you who are curious about PetSmart grooming costs and what to expect, I wanted to dive a little deeper into my experience – especially after my dog's recent 'PETSMART GROOMING DAY!' It’s totally understandable to wonder about the investment, and I hope sharing my tips helps you feel more confident about your own furry friend's spa day. When I first looked into PetSmart grooming, pricing wasn't always super clear online, so talking to the staff was really helpful. Generally, the cost depends on your dog's size, breed, and coat condition. Smaller dogs typically start at a lower price for a basic bath and brush. For bigger breeds or dogs with thicker, longer coats (like my dramatic floof!), you can expect the price to be higher as it takes more time. Services like de-shedding, de-matting, or extra brushing for a thick undercoat will also add to the final bill. My dog's initial estimate was $98 for a full-service bath, blow-out, and trim, which felt pretty reasonable for all the care he received. One of the best surprises was discovering the potential for savings! Just like I found, PetSmart often has coupons and promotions. I received a booklet with $400 in coupons, immediately knocking $10 off my first visit. Always check their website, flyers, or ask the groomers about current deals. Signing up for their email list can sometimes get you a first-time customer discount. If you're a regular, inquire about loyalty programs or package deals for multiple grooms. Planning ahead, like booking your next appointment every 3-4 months, can also help you budget and ensure your dog stays well-maintained, potentially avoiding extra charges for excessive matting later. To make your 'PETSMART GROOMING DAY!' as smooth as possible, I've learned a few things. First, ensure your dog has had a good potty break right before drop-off. Also, bring any necessary vaccination records, especially for rabies. Before you leave, have a quick chat with the groomer. Tell them about your dog's temperament (mine is a drama king!), any sensitivities, or specific preferences for their cut. This key communication ensures a positive experience for both of you. During the actual grooming, try not to hover too much if you're nervous, like I initially was. The professionals know what they're doing! I watched for a bit to ease my mind, then let them work their magic. When you pick up your dog, the groomer usually gives a report on how they did, services performed, and any observations about their skin or coat. This is a great time to ask questions or give feedback. Seeing my dog come out soft, smelling fantastic, and sporting his cute "Little Mermaid" bandanna made the whole experience worthwhile. Ultimately, professional grooming is an investment in your dog's health and happiness. While costs vary, understanding the pricing factors and knowing how to find savings makes it much more manageable. My dog's soft coat and happy demeanor after his PetSmart grooming confirmed for me that it's a valuable service we'll definitely be continuing!
