First Day,Still Healing.

First day of orientation 💼 I got there 10 minutes early and just sat in the break room taking it all in. We spent about 4 hours watching videos, answering questions, and going over policies and benefits.

The vest has to be zipped up for work, but I noticed it was really cold in there — so I’m definitely gonna have to invest in some long sleeves lol 🧥❄️

Honestly… this felt like a big deal for me. I’ve been healing from an abusive relationship and struggling with codependency for a while. For so long, I didn’t think I’d ever feel confident or independent enough to show up to something like this alone. But I did.

I was anxious (and lowkey starving lol), but I pushed through. Got myself a mini Hawaiian meal and now just relaxing. 🍛

It might seem small, but this was a huge step for me. Baby steps still count. 🤍

... Read moreStarting a new job orientation can be both exciting and overwhelming, especially when combined with personal healing journeys. This article highlights a key experience of attending a first day orientation while still processing past trauma from an abusive relationship and struggling with codependency. Such experiences showcase the courage and determination involved in regaining confidence and independence. Orientation sessions typically include watching videos, answering questions, and understanding workplace policies and benefits, as was the case here during a four-hour event. Practical challenges such as dress code adherence—for example, the requirement to wear a zipped vest—and environmental factors like cold temperatures can affect comfort, prompting the need for additional clothing like long sleeves. Beyond the logistical aspects, emotional challenges play a significant role. The author candidly shares feelings of anxiety and hunger, yet pushes through the discomfort, demonstrating resilience. Taking time for self-care after the session, like enjoying a comforting Hawaiian meal, helps in managing stress. This story underscores the importance of recognizing and celebrating "baby steps" in the healing process. Every small victory, like attending an orientation alone, contributes to rebuilding a stronger sense of self. The use of hashtags such as #healingjourney, #anxiousbuttrying, and #anxietysupport emphasizes the supportive community around mental health and recovery. For individuals recovering from abusive relationships or battling codependency, setting achievable goals and allowing oneself to take incremental steps towards independence are crucial. Seeking supportive environments and manageable challenges aids in reinforcing self-trust and growth. Recognizing the significance of simple accomplishments can profoundly impact long-term healing and personal development. Overall, this narrative provides inspiration and insight into navigating early career steps while healing emotionally, reinforcing the message that perseverance and self-compassion are vital components on the path to recovery and confidence.
