Lemon8 is merging with TikTok 🥲

This was my favorite social media app, being on here just has this calming feeling and I feel I can be myself on here. Lemon8 is filled with sweet and genuine people and amazing content, I’m worried we won’t get that anymore or as much since it’s merging with TikTok.

Existing posts will remain unaffected, but new privacy options will no longer be available. The TikTok login integration means that user data from TikTok will be utilized to enhance the Lemon8 experience, tailoring content to users' interests based on previous interactions on TikTok. Data such as usernames, profile information, and followers could impact how Lemon8 develops its community features moving forward. Users are encouraged to download their direct messaging data before the changes take effect, and they may continue to use the legacy Lemon8 application until May 2025 if they choose not to log in with TikTok. Furthermore, the relationship between Lemon8 and TikTok will necessitate adherence to TikTok's privacy policies, which users must understand as they adapt to the new platform dynamics. This fusion has the potential to bring new and exciting content to Lemon8, yet users remain hopeful that the platform's original essence and sense of community will prevail.
