3 days post move-in

Who knew moving out of our parents home and into our marital home turned out to be such a challenge for us. Not so much physically but emotionally.

I guess both of us had very comfortable homes that we grew up in for over 30 years. There's a lot to adjust to. But I'm sure over time we'll get used to it. Chores, cooking, and much more. Moving into our new place can be described as... going on a holiday, checking into a hotel... except that this is for life.

I feel like there's a lot of things I need to juggle, especially after the June holidays.

... Read moreMoving into a new home, especially when it's the first home shared as a married couple, can be an emotional rollercoaster. While many anticipate the physical workload of packing and unpacking, the real adjustment often lies in navigating new emotional landscapes and daily routines. From personal experience, coming from parents’ homes where comfort and familiarity reigned for over thirty years, it was surprising to encounter feelings of nostalgia and uncertainty. The shift from a known space to a new environment feels somewhat like a permanent vacation—exciting but also daunting because, unlike a holiday, this one is meant to last a lifetime. The challenge extends beyond mere logistics. It involves juggling expectations around chores, cooking, and household management, all while learning to share and compromise. The first few days after moving in can feel overwhelming; there are so many small tasks that suddenly become shared responsibilities, and one’s previous habits might clash with a partner’s. One helpful approach is to treat the early days as a period of trial and error, allowing space for patience and open communication. For example, setting up a chore schedule together can ease the burden and prevent misunderstandings. It’s equally important to create moments of relaxation to prevent burnout during this transition period. Moreover, recognizing that emotional adjustment can be subtle yet significant is crucial. It’s natural to miss the comfort of one’s childhood home or feel uncertain about building new traditions. Sharing these feelings openly with your partner fosters mutual support. Lastly, remember that settling into a new home is a gradual journey. Over time, the unfamiliar becomes familiar, chores become routines, and the house transforms into a true home filled with shared memories. Embracing this change with optimism and teamwork turns the challenge into an opportunity for growth and deeper connection.

🇮🇹 How We Spent Our First 3 Days in Rome ☁️
🇮🇹 This is how we spent our first 3 days in Rome When planning our first trip to Rome, we didn't want to rush from one attraction to the next. We wanted time to wander, to sit in little cafés, to stop for photos at random corners, and to experience some of Rome's most iconic spots

Unpopular opinion: moving into a new flat can actually feel smooth… if we prep properly. The place already looked clean, everything was newly done… it felt like we could just move in and figure things out later. But looking back, we’re really glad we didn’t 🙂‍↕️ Because we did these 3 thi

2 Days in Rome 🏛️ This is what I'd do differently
I underestimated Rome. 🏛️🍕 I arrived ready to conquer the Eternal City, but I made some rookie mistakes that left me "shagged out" by day two. Rome is majestic, but the crowds and logistics are no joke. If I could redo my 48 hours in Roma, this is exactly how I would do it. Save this post
