The answer was Wilhelm Maximilian Wundt 🇩🇪 (1832-1920).
...He's not a philosopher sitting alone thinking.
He is a physiologist who dares to challenge the world that "mind can be studied by science." 🔬
Before Wundt had a psychology lab...Psychology is seen as part of philosophy or medicine.
He was the first to declare that psychology must stand as its own independent science.
In 1879, he opened the world's first Institute for Experimental Psychology at the University of Leipzig, located in Germany.
And turn psychology from "philosophy" into "science" forever. ✨
Wundt was also the first to call himself a psychologist.
And wrote an important text called Principles of Physiological Psychology (1874).
