On September 17, 1897, in Belgium, a girl named Jeanne Van Calck, also known as Joanna, opened her eyes to the world, where her father, who was then working at Le Soir Publishing, decided to abandon his wife and daughter without even knowing the birth of his daughter Joanna.
So Joanna grew up with her mother and grandmother, and when she was eight years old, she lived with her grandfather and grandmother at their home in Brussels, where Joanna's mother lived in the other house.
Hardly every day, in the early evening, Grandpa and Joanna take a trip to visit Françoise Van Calck, Joanna's mother, who lives in another house not far away. The three of them spend about a few hours together before Joanna and Grandpa ask to leave.

At 18: 30 on the evening of February 7, 1906, Joanna, a girl who was only eight years old, prepared to visit her mother every day.
But luckily, on that evening Joanna's grandfather, who was to walk with her every day, had an unfinished job, so she allowed the little girl to leave her home alone for the first time...But Joanna never walked to her mother's house.

At 23: 45 minutes, while Joseph Eylenbosch, a mechanic from the Théâtre de l'Alhambra, and his son were walking on the street, they both found a puzzle parcel box in front of the 22nd rue des Hirondelles / Zwaluwenstraat (which was torn down in 1965).
At that moment, Gustave Vandamme was called to the scene along with his partner, Pierre Noël, who carried the mystery box back to Nieuwe Graanmarkt police station.
As soon as he got to the police station, police chief Desmend checked the puzzle box and told Noel to open it for him, which Noel followed without anyone thinking about what they would find in that box.
When the package box was opened, the three policemen found a blue coat and a gingham dress, but when they looked a little closer, they found the dried blood and soulless body of a little girl whose body was still warm, apparently shortly after she died.
The little boy was cut and wrapped in a thin piece of paper, tightly tied with a hemp rope. The girl's leg piece was cut off, and the leg was not put together with her body in any way.
Finding a puzzle box to the girl's soulless body forced the police commissioner to wake up from bed in the middle of the night.
The two men rushed to the police station to report the disappearance of a girl named Joanna, and they found the tragic fact that the girl's clothes in the package box clearly matched the clothes Joanna was wearing while she was missing, the girl in the box...Is Joanna.
The next day, a group of people gathered in front of 22nd, one of whom was Joanna's mother, Fornxua. Upon learning of his daughter's death, Fornxua was devastated and fainted.

The mystery box case was told by Coroner Emile De Mot, by Emile De Mot that there may have been more than one killer in this murder, one of whom may have been a man or a meat dissection skill, such as a doctor or a butcher.
Little Joanna's autopsy quickly diagnosed Joanna with a cruel fate, and she left suffering from forced alcohol until her body couldn't handle it, causing her to vomit violently and asphyxiate from vomiting, but it wasn't cruel enough for the unsub, because the autopsy also found that Joanna had been abused. Her death time was estimated at 20 to 21: 00 on the evening of her disappearance.
Joana's funeral service was held. On February 11, 1906, along with a crowd of thousands attending the memorial service, Coroner Emil de Mot presided over the invitation of her body from the Saint-Pierre Hospital morgue to the cemetery at Brussels, amid the cursing of a crowd shouting insults at murderers who had committed heinous acts against Joanna.

Still, the police tried to track down the unsub by searching the canals for a piece of Joanna's leg, but they never found the missing leg.
On February 16, 1906, a gardener named Buelens found two parcel boxes measuring about 40 centimeters inside Royal Stuyvenbergh Farm Park. The previous day, authorities had also found Joana's boots in the vicinity.
Still, the case is not overwhelming. The Belgian government has announced a bounty of over 20,000 francs for anyone who can identify the killer, as well as a reduced sentence for Joanna's murder if he is willing to turn himself in.
Librechts and a couple of police dogs called Folette were sent to the scene. The police dogs stopped in front of 22 and started barking until they got to the front of Joanna's grandfather and grandmother's house.
The Spaniards and Algerians were later arrested, but both were eventually released because they were not found to have anything to do with Kee.
Many Jean Mani, an intern in a butcher shop who often walks begging on the streets and is later released.
Later, a bloody shirt was found on Chaussée de Wavre Street, where Dr. Nyssens was suspected, but no convincing clues were found.
The publications of the era criticized the carelessness and incompetence of police officers who could not solve the case.
Later, Louis Frank, a Persian lawyer, collected 29 errors that solved Joanna's case, and he published an article in 1909 discussing the failure of the Belgian police.
One of the mistakes that Louise Frank found was that one of the key clues that the police officer didn't pay attention to was the testimony of a girl who was Joanna's neighbor, who testified that at around 7: 00 p.m. the night Joanna died, she saw Joanna with a strange man not far from Joanna's grandmother's house. The girl said the man was harmless, just that he took Joanna in the opposite direction to her mother's house.
Of course, the police didn't pay attention to the girl's testimony just because the police thought the girl's testimony was not weighty enough to be trusted.
