Here's how I got there, going beyond just the basics to ensure every cup is a winner. First off, let's talk about the foundation: water and temperature. The original tip about 100°C (212°F) being best is absolutely spot on for most white teas. While some people might suggest slightly cooler water for very delicate Silver Needle, I’ve found that using boiling water helps fully awaken the leaves, extracting all those beautiful notes without scalding them. Don't be afraid of the heat! Just make sure your water is fresh, filtered, or spring water, as tap water can sometimes contain minerals that interfere with the tea's natural taste. Quality water truly makes a difference in your final cup. Next, the tea-to-water ratio is key to avoiding that 'too light' taste.
