My dad just passed away a few months back. My mom’s been so lonely lately, it’s been tough. But she’s now besties with this random 25 yeasr old guy who was staying at an Airbnb across the street. She literally yelled over to him while watering the garden one day and invited him in for tea and now he’s basically a permanent fixture. He cooks for her, cleans the house, they go out to eat, and even drink together. He’s also crashing in our guest room sometimes.
First time I met him, he was so awkward around me, barely said two words, just gave off major weird vibes. Now whenever I visit my own mom, I feel like I’m intruding on their thing. And I found out he’s also hanging out with another older woman. My mom cried when she found out, but still defends him.
I told her I’m happy she has a friend, but I’m not cool with him sleeping over. She blew up at me and shut the conversation down. So is this situation as sus as it feels?
