... Read moreIn today's society, discussions surrounding disability awareness have become increasingly significant. It's essential to move beyond simply encouraging disabled children with vague statements like, "you can do anything if you put your mind to it." Instead, we should focus on recognizing and validating their current capabilities and celebrating their achievements, however small they may seem. Children with disabilities often face unique challenges, and a more effective way to empower them is to emphasize that their contributions and roles matter. Research and expert opinions indicate that promoting self-worth and pride in one's abilities can significantly impact a child's self-esteem and personal growth. It's crucial to create an environment where disabled children understand that they are valued not just for what they might become in the future, but equally for who they are in the present. By fostering this sense of appreciation for their individual strengths and talents, we build a foundation of confidence that encourages them to explore their interests and expand their horizons. Moreover, by actively discussing disability awareness and creating inclusive spaces, we contribute to a society that values diversity, challenges stereotypes, and combats societal stigma. Advocacy for disabled children involves not only parents but also educators, peers, and the community at large. Collaborative efforts can strengthen support networks that recognize each child's unique journey. Acknowledging the contributions of disabled children is more than just words; it is a commitment to letting them know they are seen and appreciated for who they are today. Ultimately, the goal is to inspire a culture of understanding and acceptance where disabilities do not define capability, and every child is encouraged to shine in their own way.

Doubting Yourself Over Your Disability
Before and after being put on an IEP, I had a lot of teachers and peers reinforce the stigma around learning disabilities, which caused me to doubt my dreams and think I wasn't smart enough. From there on, I was severely bullied about my music and singing. Now I am a 2x Semi Major Music award w

ADHD is a severely imparing disability
I went over a week without washing my face, showering, or brushing my teeth. A tiny cyst on my neck got infected because I literally couldn’t bring myself to treat it. It sounds extreme, but ADHD isn’t just forgetfulness—it can make even the simplest self-care feel impossible. It wasn’t until I to
