What my kids are eating today/ Toddler meal ideas
Feeding toddlers healthy, balanced meals can sometimes feel challenging, but planning meals and snacks throughout the day is a great strategy that I personally find effective. For instance, starting the day with hydrating watermelon alongside a medley of raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries provides both hydration and vital antioxidants. Breakfast often includes overnight oats topped with honey and coconut flakes, which not only tastes delicious but also offers sustained energy thanks to the fiber-rich oats and natural sweetness. Around mid-afternoon, boiled plantain served with cabbage stew is an excellent source of complex carbohydrates and vegetables, helping to ensure a good mix of nutrients. Dinner typically consists of baked potatoes accompanied by cabbage stew and roasted chicken, offering a nice balance of protein, fiber, and vitamins. I also make sure to feed my children every 3 to 4 hours and provide snacks when necessary to maintain their energy levels, alongside ample water to keep them well hydrated. From my experience, involving kids in meal prep and offering colorful, varied dishes encourages better eating habits. Using simple, whole foods not only keeps the meals nutritious but also manageable for busy parents. Experimenting with flavors like cabbage stew and incorporating seasonal fruits can keep mealtimes enjoyable and prevent picky eating.
