My New Hobby| Plant Mom 🌸🌿✨🧘🏾♀️
I will always recommend people to try new hobbies, even the hobbies people think they don’t have time for or they think they’re too old or young for.
Recently I’ve picked up gardening.👩🏿🌾There is a certain level of peace and happiness that I feel when I go to the local nurseries to look at and learn about different plants. 😌
Just being able to walk out on my patio and decorate, see all of my plants grow, and add plants to my collection, gives me tranquility. It’s like there’s automatically a boost in my mood every time I see my plants. As odd as it is to say, anytime I see my plants wither or die I look at it as a learning lesson and the cycle of life.
I’ll also ask myself what could I have done better to prevent it from passing? Did it get too much ir too little sun and or water or both?!
I would like to mention that ChatGPT has been a big help with helping me understand better practices of taking care of plants and how to grow them 🌱 and find new ones.🪴😊
How gardening saved me🪴✨☺️:
- Whenever I am stressed out or just need a breather, I go out onto my patio and sit down with my plants. Being near my plants calm me as if I have a connection to them.
- Seriously, for whatever reason I feel less inclined to cuss people out when I look at and cater to my plants. 😅😭
- This may sound funny, but I feel like a Sims character gaining skills every time I’m on my patio.😭 It just makes me laugh every time I think about it. As if I’m on level 3 trying to get to the next level and become an expert. 😭 (Let me know in the comments if y’all ever played Sims.😛) Sometimes, I just need that smile.😌
What I’ve learned 😍:
- Green onions are incredibly easy to grow. (Stay tuned for my post on my green onions . You’re gonna want to see the proof.😏) I’ve personally harvested green onions from my patio twice now. 😇
- There are different types of drainage that each plant needs. So research will have to be done for each plant for better results.
- I’m not good at taking care of all plants, but there are some that I take care of exceptionally well.
- It’s OK to start over. - I’ve had multiple plants die on me. And as unfortunate as it is, I simply keep pushing because I have other plants alive that need care.
Tips✅☺️:
- Mix plant food with the soil when potting a new plant or repotting.
- Seek a professional: look for your nearest nursery for guidance.
- Start small! Pots and seeds can be purchased at the dollar store and at Target.
- Use ChatGPT for more information on how to care for your plants. It’s a great resource!
- Purchase organic nontoxic pesticides (take a look at my previous post about planting. )
