Underground revolution will not be televised
The artistic world , music queer and fashion scene is very antiblack , colorist, fatphobic , and filled with EV and colonized people who go around and taking ideas, style, and cultural influences from the most subjected people while putting a ligther/white skin person as the face of thier art. If where going to talk about promoting blackness dark skin black women should be the face of it. if we're talking about body positivity a woman who is actually bigger should be the face of the movement. The issue is I have it its so many black people who have inferiority complex co signing people who dont have the gift, creative essence , style of cultural influences. Thier needs to be a new underground space where all the real marginalized creative people can expression themselves ithout these energy harvester that go around stealing and copying people energy. A real pro black space, and real a Black/queer renaissance . My full figured women, darkskin, real indeginous women have the spot light.
From my experience, the struggle to find authentic representation in the artistic and fashion worlds is very real, especially for marginalized groups like dark-skinned Black women and full-figured individuals. Creating a safe underground space is essential for genuine expression free from energy vampires and cultural colonizers who appropriate rather than honor marginalized communities. This space would allow creatives to share their heritage, stories, and styles authentically, without fear of being overshadowed or exploited. I have seen how embracing Blackness in its full spectrum—especially dark skin and diverse body types—can empower communities and challenge harmful beauty standards. Similarly, Indigenous women deserve more visibility and respect in artistic and cultural circles, as their contributions are often erased or ignored. This emerging Black/queer renaissance is more than an artistic movement; it’s a reclaiming of identity, creativity, and space. By centering those who have been historically marginalized, we not only protect but also enrich cultural narratives that have been diluted by mainstream influences. If you’re passionate about these issues, supporting local arts, underground shows, and inclusive fashion brands is a powerful way to participate. Sharing personal stories and uplifting voices from within these communities helps build momentum and visibility. Ultimately, this revolution won’t be televised because it’s happening in real, raw, creative spaces where true transformation begins.
