Happy INDEPENDENT Day/4th of July

Growing up in the United States, I've always felt a deep sense of pride on the 4th of July. This day isn't just about fireworks and barbecues; it’s a meaningful opportunity to appreciate the freedoms and rights hard-won by so many. Particularly, I reflect on the civil rights movement and its monumental impact, which helped create a more just society where Black Americans and people of color could aspire to live on equal footing. It's important to acknowledge that while our nation has made significant progress, the work is not finished. Celebrating Independence Day makes me think about inclusion and the vital role each person plays in continuing to protect and expand civil liberties. It reminds me to stand in solidarity with those still fighting for justice and equality. On a lighter note, July 4th gatherings always feature iconic symbols like Coca-Cola, which feels intertwined with American celebrations. Sharing time with family and friends over classic American foods and drinks amplifies the joy of this day and our shared heritage. Ultimately, Independence Day is a time to cherish our country's strengths and confront its challenges with hope and commitment. It reminds me that being proud to be American involves embracing both our freedoms and the responsibility to ensure those freedoms are accessible to everyone.
