BOOKS I READ IN APRIL
I was able to read 6 books this month and these are my honest thoughts.
Neon Gods by Katee Robert- a modern Hades and Persephone retelling. Hades seems to be a myth, until Persephone crosses the river styx to get away from Zeus. I adore this book but there were a lot of filler chapters she could have done more with but overall Katee Robert had me reading this within a matter of days.
Scarred by Emily Mcintire-based off of Lion King, i loved this book. the scarred prince is EASILY my favorite book boyfriend. It’s a royal romance, which i am a sucker for honestly. I finished this in one night.
Damsel by Evelyn Skye-My favorite book of this month. I watched the movie and adored Elodie, but the book made me love her even more. There’s so much more in the book than there is in the movie and it even has a different ending which i loved more than the movie.
Lights Out by Navessa Allen-Josh reminds me of my own boyfriend with his humor. It felt like there was always something going on so i never got bored of this book.
Praise by Sara Cate-This is the first in the series, honestly i think it will end up being my least favorite of the series. I didn’t love the dynamic of Charlie and Emerson’s relationship but i adored Charlie as a character and the growth she has too. I just prefer romance books that have another goal in the end too.
Stinger by Mia Sheridan-This one took the longest for me to read, I had to force myself to finish it. I hated both the characters. It’s a male p0rn star and a girl who has her entire life planned out. There’s so many time jumps and not a lot of plot, it’s just hard to keep up with what’s happening.
These are my personal opinions and not made to attack the books, authors, or those who enjoyed the books. That’s the beauty of books! There’s something for everyone.
I absolutely LOVE neon gods. It’s one of my most favorite books and I always recommend it. The throne scene is everything. Same with praise, this book has me 🥵🥵🥵. It also has a throne scene that had me tingling lol. Loved those. However I was kinda bored with lights out 😭 I think there was too much hype around it.
