Easy Cinnamon Rolls and icing from scratch!

Recipe and steps below. Although I let my rolls rise for about 90 mins, they didn’t double, but that could be due to humidity, our weather has been back and forth, or I killed the yeast a little with too hot a mixture of the butter and milk. Either way, they were still DELICIOUS!

We LOVE the icing if you can’t tell, so that much is our preference, because we’re not both big sweets eaters, when the mood hits.

... Read moreMaking homemade cinnamon rolls can be a delightful experience, especially when creating them from scratch. The essential elements of a great cinnamon roll begin with a well-prepared dough. It’s crucial to ensure that your yeast is activated properly, as this affects the rise of the dough. Remember, environmental factors like humidity and temperature can impact yeast performance. For the perfect rise, let your dough rest until it doubles in size, which usually takes about an hour. When it comes to icing, the balance between sweetness and creaminess is key. A classic cream cheese icing made with butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract can complement the warmth of fresh cinnamon rolls. Feel free to adjust the sweetness to your preference. Serving these rolls warm from the oven is the best way to enjoy them. Pair them with a hot cup of coffee or tea for a perfect breakfast treat. Don’t be afraid to get creative with variations, such as adding nuts or using flavored extracts for a unique twist. Home-baked cinnamon rolls are not just a dish; they are an experience that fills your home with a cozy and inviting aroma.
